This may sound ridiculous, but how do i delete this post.

 

I responded to @Lovetoteach in regards to renewing GC....what i didn't realize (foolish me) was that she actually said she already has her 10 year GC

Children of U.S. Citizens Residing in the United States

Children who were born outside the U.S. but now live in the U.S. may acquire citizenship under Section 320 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA). A child born outside of the United States automatically becomes a U.S. citizen when all of the following conditions have been met on or after Feb. 27, 2001: 

• The child has at least one parent, including an adoptive parent, who is a U.S. citizen by birth or through naturalization;
• The child is under 18 years of age;
• The child is a lawful permanent resident (LPR); and
• The child is residing in the United States in the legal and physical custody of the U.S. citizen parent.

Of course, I had to pay both fees because those are two different petitions. I filed for I-751 last year in March to get the 10 years GC. Since I-751 is taking forever so I filed for naturalization with a pending I-751 this year in March. I had a joint interview with I-751 and N-400. They approved both of my applications one after another with a span of few days.

Ok. I read that too but it says LPR but she is a conditional resident. Just gonna apply for her passport and see what happens

Thanks for the info.

Conditional GC is a GC but with a condition. It does not matter because one of the parents is being naturalized. However, you might look for a few more things in the USCIS manual to get a deeper understanding. Best wishes

Thanks for the info.

I'm not well versed on this, but do look into the process. It seems like she would still need to be naturalized. I don't think you can apply for her passport directly without that.

I was thinking the same thing but she is 9 and @Name O Boy post made a lot of sense. When you call USCIS all you get is MISINFORMATION. But I will do some more research.

I would highly recommend you to schedule an infopass appointment. In the meantime, you can also create a thread or post a question in the VJ. I am pretty sure many people would answer it with details. Regards

I got naturalized yesterday and the officers told us that if any of us have kids under 18, they should stay behind and would be told what to do. I would make an infopass appointment to talk to somebody in person.

Finally get to mark myself red, I'm officially a U.S. citizen! There were 99 people including myself became naturalized U.S. citizens in the ceremony. Each was seated by a seating number that was given to you, and that was the same order they go by when handing out the certificate. A Welcome Packet was handed out, inside the packet you will get a passport application, a small American flag, The Citizen's Almanac, etc. The auditorium was pretty packed, and the ceremony took about 3 hours. Thank you to VisaJourney and thank you to everyone who shared their timeline and experiences.

Fprints:  Date assigned for fingerprinting (Bio-metrics). If you do your biometrics via walk-in prior to your scheduled appointment, please enter the date in bold blue.
In Line: Date you received e-notification about the start of your interview scheduling.
Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
Interview: Date of your interview.
Oath: Date Oath taken.

NOA: Receipt Notice Date Printed on your official I-797 notification.
Fprints:  Date assigned for fingerprinting (Bio-metrics). If you do your biometrics via walk-in prior to your scheduled appointment, please enter the date in bold blue.
In Line: Date you received e-notification about the start of your interview scheduling.
Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
