Has anyone heard any news coming out of the USCIS center in Phoenix, AZ?

Filled my N-400 in March, went to the biometrics appointment and was wondering reading all the posts, should I hear something soon or nearer the end of 2018?

Hi there, it all depends on your field office and the number of pending cases. This waiting is no fun. Are you following the Phoenix, AZ applicants timeline? They give you a very good idea of the overall process. Hope you hear soon.

Thanks for the information my friend, I will follow the posts concerning the Phoenix field office.

You are welcome. I was looking at some of the recent Phoenix applicants and their interview was scheduled within 5 to 4 months since filing. I hope this is the case for you :)

Thanks a lot. I was looking at the USCIS processing timeline and the Washingon D.C. applicant's timeline on the VJ. Based on my calculation on average it takes 6 or 7 months at the D.C field office to process N-400 applications. Having said that some of the D.C. VJ filers cases were done under 4 months. It could take less than 7 months but could be more. Hopefully, you will hear from them sooner than later.

Now on to your second question. It is a law that you will have to notify USCIS within 10 days if you change your address. If you are moving in August then you can notify them in August so they transfer your case to Texas. U.S. immigration law says that USCIS doesn’t have to schedule your interview in your new state or service district, but what actually happens is that the USCIS office in your old state or service district sees your change of address in its computer system and transfers your file to the office nearest where you’re actually living. That office will mail a notice of interview to you at your new address, scheduling the interview to take place near where you live. Your priority date does not change but it also depends on how many people are ahead of you in your field office. For the change of address, you would need to file form AR-11 which is available online. If your spouse was your sponsor and moving out to Texas then he/she needs to file form I-865 which is sponsor's change of address form. Needs to be filed in 30 days. Below are the links of forms for the change of address:

Out of curiosity, does the clock start at the NOA date, or the biometrics date?

Like if I'm comparing myself to other people's timelines from my local field office, should I be comparing based on the NOA date, or our biometrics dates?

I assume biometrics is just something you need to get done before they get to your case, right? It's not stalling the process till you get it done and pushing you further back in line?

K-1 Visa:                                                                             ROC:

04-16-2014 - I-129F Petition filed                                   04-04-2017 - Mailed ROC application

09-10-2014 - Interview- VISA APPROVED                      05/12/2017 - Biometrics

01-10-2015 - POE: San Francisco                                    06/06/2018 - I-551 Stamp in passport

                                                                                              11/29/2018 - Approved

AOS:                                                                                       Naturalization:

02-26-2015 - Filed for AOS, EAD & AP                              27-03-2018 - Filed online application
03-12-2015 - NOA received for AOS, EAD & AP              04/03/2018 - Biometrics

I think it is the NOA. I got my interview notice right after my 3 year anniversary. As far as the biometrics is concerned, if they don't find any discrepancy they will schedule you for an interview.  Which means they want to complete the background check before they schedule you for the interview. The interview wait time also depends on how many applicants are ahead of you, best wishes.

Hmm, that makes sense. It just throws me off when I read the status and it says "Actively processing your case since [biometrics date]"

Honestly, all these things are so arbitrary. I just need to forget about this process for a couple of months and maybe stop signing onto Visa journey for my own sanity hahah!

Received a notice from the local USCIS office that they will be doing a combo I751 / N400 interview on 7/17 and spouse should attend.

Fully expected that as the only other Cincinnati filer I know received one as well.

Hope we can get this complete and oath scheduled before we move 20 miles south to Northern Kentucky.  Really have no interest in driving to Louisville when Cincinnati is across the bridge :)
