@Name O Boy @Dualie @BigEZ @PositiveThinker @Lovetoteach Any updates guys? Hope Civics studying is going well @shell20 @YafaUSA @ramus_maximus.No updates for me so far. Just silence🙄

Just walked in at our local office in Houston to get the I-551 stamp. Finally got it after waiting for about 2.5 hours. It only took us 5 mins to get the stamp once our number was announced. But I thought it was very strange the people behind the window took about 30 break between each person. I am just glad that we got the stamp and they didn't turn us around.

I did ask the office about the pending ROC and N-400 interview and how it will be handled. They said both will be processed on the same day. So will update you guys on the June 25th about the interview experience.

So, we filed in March 2018 for naturalization.  I get the texts, so I received one that says his case was updated.  I checked online and sure enough he was scheduled for an interview.  We haven't completed ROC yet, so I'm assuming his appointment will be together.  Is that correct?  I'm so excited but am now nervous.  He's sleeping and I don't want to wake him.  If I could be a bit greedy, I'm hoping the interview is a month away.  He leaves on the 20th for a business trip out of country, and I leave the following week for an out of country trip.  I think I'll be home the 7th of July.

The question I have is if he just receives an interview letter for naturalization, is it just to be understood that I'll have to be there for it (because they will also have to do his ROC prior to the naturalization interview)???

ROC

3.6.2017     Mailed I-751

3.7.2017     NOA sent

3.23.2017   Biometrics Appointment

2.26.2018   I-751 Transferred to Local Office

3.5.2018     I-751 Received in Local Office

5.1.2018     Case Transferred; Preliminary Review Done; transferred to NBC in Lee's Summit, MO

5.3.2018     Case Transferred

7.24.2018   Joint interview approved

7.30.2018   Green Card received

Naturalization

3.15.2018   Filed N 400 Online

3.15.2018   USCIS sent the receipt

3.16.2018   USCIS sent biometrics letter

6.14.2018   Interview Notice sent

7.24.2018   Naturalization Interview; approved

9.26.2018   Oath Ceremony Scheduled

They will process both case at same time during the interview appointment. I was told this by an officer who stamped I-551 few days ago for us.

To play it safe, I would plan to have both of you there for the interview. Why take any chances, right? For the most part it seems that when they do both interviews together, they have the spouse in the room for the I-751 part, then interview the applicant alone for the n-400.

Good to see folks getting interview letter. But why not me?? I filed March 10, online & Washington DC is field office. I’m single, 5 yr rule. Shouldn’t be this hard right? Does it depends on my nationality country or home state?

Home state.

If you are, for example, from a state like Minnesloooowta (or ND/SD/part of WI), you can expect to maybe be done in the Fall of 2019.  I don't know what the processing times are looking like out of your office, but some states seem to take a month or two and others are at more than a year.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

It's a good news. Most likely your interview will be 30 or 40 days from the notification date you just received. You will be able to see the interview date within 24 hours. Since you have pending I-751 as well it is highly recommended to go with your spouse. Best wishes.

It depends on a combination of things. The biggest one is your field office processing time. If it is backlogged than you would have to wait longer.

I definitely plan on going to the interview.  It's so exciting to know it is finally here.  We never expected it to be this quick (after talking with the guy who gave my husband his I 551 stamp), so our summer has already been filled with many fun adventures (I teach and can travel then).  We will most certainly work our schedule around the interview. It's just these next few days that are agonizing.  Will it fit nicely into our maze of a summer...or will we have to reshuffle a few things?  I'd love them to put the interview date in the notification text...

**When I say quick...ha ha...that statement has no bearing on the 15 months we've waited for ROC...it is simply related to the naturalization.  :)
