So my entirely unscientific perusal of forums devoted to previous filings months suggests that the time lag between fingerprints appointment and the interview letter is about 2 months (under normal circumstances). So, we are looking to mid-may on average for letters, and hopefully June for interview appointments. Is this too optimistic?

That was my estimation as well based on what I have read. I sure do hope so

NEENEE NYC, did you have a pending I-751/ROC when you filed your N-400 by any chance?

I'm the USC petitioner. My wife is British (now a USC!!!), generally awesome, and amazingly patient.

Just had biometrics today. We got there early and finished before the appointment time even came! I see now my estimated case completion time is February 2019. Fingers crossed!

Also had my biometrics done today in Atlanta, waited for 15 mins before being called in to take a very terrible picture and my finger prints (right hand only sans thumb).

An hour later received an Account Update Notification email from the Elisdonotreply@uscis.dhs.gov  that just said,

Dear {My full Name}

The message was empty, so i logged into my account and there were no updates...checked the case status site (https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do) and saw the following:

Next up interview...sigh! hopefully that goes as smoothly as possible for me and everyone here. Good luck guys

I kinda agree with your theory, my friend. It's a possibility that you get your letter in 2 months and then you have like one and half month wait time in the normal situation.

I am positive you would be done before February-2019, regards.

Hi guys,

A good friend of mine who is a lot more knowledgable than I am with all the uscis details showed me the link to the old Ellis uscis website.

When I entered my log in information there, this came up:

Receipt Number:IOExxxxxxxxxx
Request Type:Application for Naturalization
Received As:EFile
Status:In Process
Status Message:USCIS has scheduled your interview appointment and will mail you the appointment notice.
Pending Action:None

Do you guys think that Is reliable ???? I don’t want to get my hopes up too much.....but here it says: Scheduled for interview !!!!! My friend says the year will send it out once I pass the 30 days deadline of my green card anniversary !!!!
:-)

Have you read the last several pages of this thread?

Answer is no, it is likely just the way your biometrics appointment is showing up in the old system.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

Gosh I hope you’re right! But I’m under the impression that it depends heavily on the local office in question. When I went back a few months into previous filing months threads, I couldn’t find a single interview scheduled for my local office (looked up until Sept 2017). Whereas the Chicago office has been scheduling interviews so quick, even feb ‘18 filers have seen interviews already.

Does the Estimated Completion Date on USCIS refer to when you are expected to complete the entire process or get to interview?

I could be wrong, but I think it's for the entire process. Because I also see an additional wait time given, which is a month shorter and I believe that is the wait time until the next step (in this case, interview).

Here's a screenshot that shows both estimates:

Some claim that the old one updates a few hours before the new one.  Why that matters is a different question.

I don't think so because mine says the same thing and I just did the biometrics April 16. I don't think they will give me an interview app so soon.
