Good day everyone! I had my interview today in Atlanta,  and it went like this: 

 

 

My appointment was scheduled for 12:15PM. I arrived  at 11:30, and I was told that I'll have to check in at 11:45AM. After I checked in at 11:45AM, I was called in for my interview at 12:50PM. The officer asked me basic questions like my name, address , etc....then she went over some of the questions on my application. I carried my birth certificate, taxes, and more, but she only asked me to provide my passport, ID, and green card.

 

 

The questions I was asked were:

Who is the Vice President

What is freedom of religion                                        

Who was the first President

Who is the Governor of GA

Who is Chief Justice

(I can't remember the last one for the life of me...lol🤦‍♀️)

 

Reading test:

Why to people come to America?

 

Writing: 

People come to America for freedom.

 

At the end, the officer told me congratulations and that I will receive my oath letter in two to four weeks. The interview ended around 1:10PM; it lasted about 20 mins.  When I got home, I checked online, and it states that my Oath letter was mailed!! 

 

This has been long road, particularly because my green card expired after I submitted my application, and unbeknownst to me, I couldn't renew my driver's license. My license expired in October. I'm so glad it's over (well almost). Good luck you all!

Hello Everyone, 

My wife had her interview today in Atlanta at 10:30 am. We arrived early and checked in. She went back with the officer at around 11 am. She was out in about 20 mins. She was asked 6 questions and given a statement to read and write. The officer asked her about which school she attended and about her travel history from the N400 application. The officer also asked if I was her husband, since I was with her outside when  he out came to call her number. He took a copy of her green card and a copy of my US passport. He did not ask for any other paperwork or evidence.  

 

He then congratulated her and gave her the slip of paper indicating she passed and that her application is recommended for approval.

 

My wife asked if we could have the original marriage contract and birth certificate we submitted with previous applications but she was told that they cannot do that. They told her to file form I551 to request any original documents back. We plan to do that after the whole process is complete. 

 

We are now waiting for the status to change on the USCIS account.

My interview is scheduled for Saturday afternoon on March 16.  I didn’t know that they are open on Saturdays...My office is LA County office.  Should I call the USCIS to make sure that it’s really on Saturday? Does anyone know someone who had his/her interview on Saturday?

My interview will take place in Phoenix in March at 07:15am. That's real early, I wonder why? Will I have to bring all the original documents I uploaded and the wife's birthday certificate even the the wife will be in attendance for support?

Mine is at 7 am!  Yes to all originals if you submitted copies.  That's what the letter should say.

Wow - thrilled to say I had my N-400 naturalization interview at the Javits building in Manhattan this morning and passed!

 

My interview time was 9:15 a.m. My USC husband and I arrived to the 7th floor via 4 train from the UES around 8:45 where GMA and then Kelly & Ryan were blaring LOL; at least it was distracting.

 

I got called back at almost exactly 10am by a friendly officer. She asked to see my green card, NY driver's license, and passport.

 

She started with the civics questions - Africans, November, declared our independence from Britain, Supreme Court, 6 years, 18-26. The iPad wasn't working so I did the English tests on paper (VERY EASY). 

 

There was an odd error in my application that she fixed and I signed for.

 

Fingerprints - index fingers only (I'm guessing to validate my identity).

 

She asked for copies of our taxes and one document indicating a joint account (I used the mortgage tax notice).

 

That was it! All told about 35 minutes in the office.

 

I had EVERYTHING with me that she could have asked for based on my reading the posts here - right down to new photos, expired passports, etc.  I brought it all home with me.

 

Now, I wait for notice on the oath!

My interview is fast approaching (in 10 days) and i have started to do a final put together of documents that i'll be taking with me. Thus far this is what i have, please feel free to let me know or give suggestions if you feel i'm lacking any documents in particular that you think might be useful (Basically i need another set of eyes to help me out....thanks in advance).

Eligibility Status: 5 years

• Identification :
  • Green Card
  • Drivers License
  • Passport (from birth till present)
  • Social Security Card
  • Copy of Birth Certificate (cannot find the original)
• Notice:
  • N-400 Interview notice
  • N-400 receipt notice
• Marriage/Divorce Record:
  • Original Marriage Certificate
  • Original Divorce Decree
  • Copy of submitted Divorce Papers( got a non certified copy from court house)
• Tax:
  • 2014 - 2017 Tax Return Transcript from IRS
  • 2017 Tax Account Transcript (to show i don't owe taxes from the most recent tax record i have)
  • Letter stating why i did not file 2013 taxes (I was not required to; i didn't earn an income)
  • Printout of Georgia Tax Statement for all the years i filed
  • (pending): 2018 Tax Return Transcript -(ordered, but not yet received, filed 1/29/2019)
• Miscellaneous
  • Copy of I-94 Travel History (from official site) 
  • Church Membership Certificate (because i added it as part of the group i was a member of)
  • Most Recent Travel Ticket
  • Copy of N-400 snapshot 
  • Updated/Corrected Pages (page 2 to include my other middle names and Page 7 to reflect my most recent travel since i traveled after i submitted my N-400)
  • My nerves (because i've started to get them and know it will be ever present on that day)

Big ones I can think of are:

 

- Proof of spouse's US citizenship (birth certificate/passport)

- Birth certificates of any kids

- I'm bringing along other documents that show proof of marriage such as joint rental leases, bank statements in both our names, car titles showing joint ownership of assets, insurance policies and life insurance showing each other as beneficiaries, etc.

- Extra passport photos (2x2) because I've heard you need them for something although I'm not sure what? But they're easy to get, so I'm bringing some along

 

I'm sure they won't ask for most of that stuff but best to be safe...

 

My interview is in 20 days and I'm nervous, too! I just want to get it done!
