hello !! one question, i already passed my interview december 11, 2018 but i decided to change name, i have two last names and i only want to keep one. but with this government shut down somebody told me the federal courts arent open so thats delaying me from getting my oath ceremony...if this is true, can i call uscis to tell them that i dont want to make any changes to my name anymore so i get my ceremony soon. and if yes can someone give me that number where i can call. thank you!!

Wait, they aren't scheduling oath ceremonies during the shut down?  But it's it conducted at the field offices?

Yeah a friend of mine spoke to someone at uscis said those that applied for name change will be affected by the shutdown due courts being closed/limited or something of that nature. Since the name change has to be officiated by a judge and not in the field office.

Not sure.   How was your interview?  Can you give an overview of how it went/experience?  I'm excited and nervous for mine of the 28th.  Is it correct that your spouse doesn't need to be there?

Hey everyone my husband has been scheduled for his citizenship interview. His letter says he needs to bring selective service docs. When he moved here he was too old to register. He was 29 when he came on fiance visa. So should we assume this doesn't apply for him?

I know the rules when it comes to selective service but I need to know if any sort of paperwork needs to still be furnished at N400 interview. The guide on VJ say  "If you did not register with the Selective Service and you (1) are male, (2) are 26 years old or older, and (3) lived in the United States in a status other than as a lawful nonimmigrant between the ages of 18 and 26, send:
A 'Status Information Letter' from the Selective Service (Call 1-847-688-8888 for more information). "  Well he didn't live here at all between 18 and 26. He didn't move here until he came on fiance visa at age 29. Nothing is giving a clear answer. Interview letter says in the docs he needs to bring: Any evidence of registration with selective service.

There are plenty of answers to be had with a simple forum search.  https://www.visajourney.com/sitesearch/?cx=partner-pub-3407508467788263%3A9725800110&cof=FORID%3A10&ie=UTF-8&q=too+old+for+selective+service+naturalization&sa=Search

You need nothing. It is a non-issue.

I received an update that my interview has been scheduled! I think myUSCIS is down because I'm having issues logging on right now. I'll update later in the week with my interview date.

YAYYY some movement in the Houston field office!

I want to update myself in here. Husbands interview is March 5th. But what does "in line" mean? Do I just list his interview date or notification online, date letter received and interview?
