Hi @ShanshanjamrockIf card has been mailed, you'll get it, but will turn around and submit it at your Oath Ceremony. I received my card a week before the interview and submitted three week later. Congratulations on your upcoming Oath!

I' m happy for you @Shanshanjamrock! This has to be the best gift for your upcoming holiday celebrations! You couldn't have asked for a better way to finish your 2018. I am excited about receiving my US passport tomorrow, exactly 17 days after my Oath.  You are also an Oath away, and nothing can stop you now.

My application has been approved following my interview yesterday, no just the long wait for the oath ceremony which could take up to 5 months here in San Antonio/Austin area

Congratulations, I am still waiting on my interview. Phoenix AZ, is very slow.

Had my interview this morning in Orlando.  Interview went perfectly answered all 6 questions without getting one wrong.  Only snag was the fingerprint scanners were down.  I was 40 miles into my journey home when I got a call that the scanners were up again, did I want to come back in to finish it off.  Immediately turned around and went back to the office.  That was the short version.

Anyway Oath ceremony scheduled for this Thursday.

I have a question for anyone in the know.

I have a child who is still a minor (LPR).  Does he get certificate of citizenship automatically or do I need to fill out any forms. i.e N-600

🙋🙋.....I know. It's automatic. My daughter became a LPR after me and her conditional green card expired and I submitted her documents to remove conditions too. But after receiving my certificate of citizenship I went with her passport application to the post office. 1 week later her passport came. They kept her expired green card. I will however in the future when I can afford it, apply for a N600 for her.

Thanks for your answer, however I'm slightly confused.

Why would you apply for N-600 (in the future) if your daughter already received her citizenship.  Is this just so she can have the certificate.

I don't really understand much about it either I think it shows some future proof that he or she is a US citizen it's just like having your US citizenship certificate I'm assuming just in case anything comes up and the u.s. passport is not enough evidence.

Gotcha, you were typing whilst I was editing the post.

So the certificate is just a safeguard.  Makes sense,  although not absolutely necessary since the passport date will show that he/she was a minor when she got her citizenship therefore the certificate is a nice to have but not a requirement.

Correct. It would be easier for her to show proof of citizenship with her own certificate.
