I just got an email that they scheduled me for my oathtaking 😃 Finally i'm almost done. I checked my uscis account and the document they sent me has been uploaded. Oathtaking scheduled on Nov 15 @ Campbell, CA. Yahoo!

hello, I am so happy!!!! I wanted to share this with everybody 😃😄Today I received a text about an update in my case and it says interview scheduled, but i am not able to see the date yet. It took 7 months. How long does it take to see the interview date?

I got to my 8:30 am interview at Newark, NJ. I was done after 1-hour wait. I only remember 4 of the 6 questions I answered -:
1 - What is an amendment? / 2 - Who vetoes bills? / 3 - What is the capital of New Jersey? / 4 - What is the supreme law of the country?

Reading - Who was the first President / Writing - George Washington was the first President.

The Oath ceremony was at 11:30 am, there was an earlier one at 9 am. We were 74 people at the Oath Ceremony from 30 countries. So within 4 hrs I was interviewed and Oathed. Wish everyone success in their journey. I followed this thread on the sidelines but I was grateful for all your insights on various things. Best to all.

What a day! Yesterday was my N-400 interview. Things didn't start good, and it was my fault. I arrived 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment. When my IO called me, which is apparent that she had tried before, she was not happy at all. I decided, at that time not to request to be joined by my wife and newborn because I did want to subject them to any tension. While walking to her office, she asked why I was late and firstly, I apologized and explained . She is one of the most consummate professionals I have encountered. We went through sentence reading and writing. She went through everything that I filled in my N-400 application; and verified, I mean, name, birth date, address, work, international visits to those YES or NO questions. When she finished, she asked for additional updated information since my last interview, which was in July, for I-751. I submitted my current (2017) taxes, recent auto insurance, life policy I took last year which we never requested in my last interview. She asked for updated bank statements, and unfortunately I didn't bring. My other mistake was to bring the original taxes without making copies. She advised me that she couldn't make a decision about my case until she receives copies of my taxes, bank statements, and I was given a month to mail or a possibility of my case being dismissed. I requested to submit them within an hour and she liked the idea. That's the first time I sensed her warm nature, because we went through the interview so fast after my late arrival and she was just all professional. She told me to submit those documents with the receptionist. We left and I asked the security guard for the nearest printing business, and was directed to UPS which was not far. I made copies and accessed my banks online and made copies of current statements. My online case status was already showing that RFE (needed more information).

I submitted those documents and was given a receipt by the receptionist. When I got home, my USCIS App notified me that:

Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled

We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number IOEXXXXXXXXXX, with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony. You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date.

What a surprise and joy because I was beating myself for everything that led to a delay in deciding my case. My story is a combination of PATIENCE, WHAT NOT TO DO, DETERMINATION TO MAKE UP FOR MISTAKES and RESILIENCE UNDER THE STORM. I want to take this opportunity to thank those contributing members of this community, because you have given me so much SUPPORT, HOPE and KNOWLEDGE, though your own stories and advice. I also want to extend APPRECIATION and THANKS for those professional IOs who have made this journey worth every step, especially in our anguish because of protracted delays in adjudication. It has been a long road, 2 years and 2 months, for I-751 and 7 months for N-400. I hope my story will help those facing similar challenges to keep your head because there is hope and this road will come to an end. This is my current online status:

Your final step to becoming a citizen is to attend your naturalization ceremony

We will mail you a letter when we schedule your naturalization ceremony.

I had my interview at Chicago office on October 18, 2018. I got approved too then and there by the IO but it has been now 8 days and My status still says old one of Interview scheduled. I'm so confused, what is going to happen. No updates, nothing

Thank you very much, @sw88! Congratulations on your approval, that's a major step in the right direction. I can imagine how frustrating this process can be, because I believe that, different IOs handle followup different. I was amazed how fast my status changed, as soon as I left the interview, it constantly changed every step of the way, from NEEDING MORE INFORMATION, to OATH SCHEDULING as soon as I submitted (within an hour) the missing information to APPROVAL, all within 6 hours. I strongly believe that the experience and professionalism of the IO plays a major role in getting things done. The IO I had was a consummate professional, and I could tell she was experienced because there a time when she asked those YES/NO questions without even looking at them, but busy going through a lot of paperwork in my thick file. Please don't despair, because some IOs defer cases to their supervisors for one reason or another, cases left them on their desks, maybe forget to enter the progress of the case, or delegated to other roles. Give yourself a little bit more time to wait for a change in status, and if it takes much longer, call USCIS and request TIER 2 officer to track the status of your case, or set up an INFOPASS to inquire about the status of your case. You are almost there, don't stress yourself anymore.

This is so helpful, thank you, much relieved after reading your comment. Yes, already it is a tiring journey . Okay, I'll wait and keep praying . My IO was a young guy and he actually called another IO as a witness to all last YES questions of n400. He first asked me those and then printed these questions with my response and got my signature in presence of another (a senior femaleIO) as a witness. This seemed a bit strange to me later on but on that moment , just getting approved was all that matter to me. Maybe my IO was a junior since how you described your IO seemed senior and much more experienced .

I agree that the behavior of your IO was that of an officer who was under training, and because of his experience needed a senior to make a final decision. You can only imagine what happened after your interview. He couldn't update your case, and couldn't make a call on approval because he's new and learning. Chances are, your application is with his supervisor, who didn't interview you, inundated with other cases, and trying to go through those cases on her/his own, also seeking feedback from the trainee IO. I'm sorry that you have to go through all that, but it will be resolved soon.

Sent: Date N-400 was mailed to USCIS.
Cashd: Date your check was cashed / credit card was charged by USCIS.
NOA: Receipt Notice Date Printed on your official I-797 notification.
Fprints: Date assigned for fingerprinting (Bio-metrics). If you do your biometrics via walk-in prior to your scheduled appointment, please enter the date in bold blue.
In Line: Date you received e-notification about the start of your interview scheduling.
Int Ltr: Date you received the official letter in the mail regarding interview.
Interview: Date of your interview.
Oath: Date Oath taken.

Field Office: Your local USCIS office where you will have the N-400 interview.

I have a question am getting my documents together for my n400 interview next month do i need to print my whole entry tax return or I could bring the first few pages with both our name on it, oh and I still have a pending I-751

Hi @Shanshanjamrock! You don't have to make copies of the whole tax entries, just the first few pages that reflect just your income tax returns. Make sure you make copies, do not just bring originals, and include your latest (2017) return. They require 2015, 2016 and 2017. One important thing is that, all UPDATED documents since you last submission, and this can include even photos of your recent trip with your spouse, recent bank statements or car insurance or whatever UPDATED proof of what you had submitted last. This is to show that you are still married and living or sharing a life with your spouse since you submitted evidence of being married. I hope this helps.
