Contact your representatives (Congressperson and Senators) and see if they can follow up on it for you... worst case USCIS will probably schedule your interview sooner and best case they may take another look at your file and approve you!

In other news, for me...

On Monday, I got all excited there for a minute... my email said "we've updated your file" - so I checked in on the website to see if they'd done something on my N-400 ........ And nope. It turns out that the "update" was changing the status on the I751 (which you can finally track online) to say that my card had been mailed to me.

The update was dated Sunday... I got my new card 2 weeks ago. I joked about "wouldn't it be funny if they sent me another green card?" - hahaha

Right, so... I totally got a second green card. But this one says my "resident since" date is 03/14/18 (the date they finally approved my I-751) - SOOOOOOOO ticked off, since this means I had to take another morning off to go to an Infopass (fortunately there are Infopass appointments available next week!) to sort it out, and make sure that the date is correct in my N-400 application - if they look at the wrong card, they'd simply deny my N-400 because I "wasn't a resident long enough" and I'd be out $700!

Seriously, the IT department at USCIS need to get fired. OMG I'm so tired of USCIS and their incompetence!!!!!!!! :bonk:

I wish you all the luck with your situation. I think I will wait at least a month and if I don’t hear from them I’ll probably contact the Congress person etc.

Of course you should do what you think is right. However, there is no penalty for contacting your representatives, and the sooner someone is "on your case" the sooner this all might get resolved.... or you'll get an extra green card with the wrong date on it. My advice may be faulty....

Is your timeline updated?

Oath Ceremony Dec 14th, 2018 I am finally a citizen and done with USCIS for good!

751 pending still, My 400 will be rejected because my husband passed away 3 days after the 400 interview, I had my 400 interview on the 26th last month, I was trying to persuade the officer to adjudicate both on the spot by putting an expedited oath ceremony request based on humanitarian ground with tons of medical evidence and dr's letter saying my husband would like to see me become a citizen before he potentially passed which was 100 percent true arguing that as a same sex couple, if it weren't for DOMA and Prop 8, we would have gotten married a long time ago, and we would not be in this situation facing the possibility of his failing to fulfill his last wish to see me become a citizen due to his age and declining health, the officer was somehow sympathetic but he said he was only in charge of 400 and could not make a decision and he said he would talk to his supervisor. He took my emergency expedited oath request though, 3 days later, my love passed, my lawyer told me to submit an emergency request to convert my 751 to an individual waiver application to avoid complications because if they approved my joint application after my man's death, they could undo it and have me file a new 751 all over again, and that would be s huge screw up and a big nightmare, so I did so by going to my field office as an emergency, and they took my request to cover my 751 to a waiver one right there. I submitted as much evidence like mortuary letter and medical record telling them I will submit the death certificate as soon as it is available. It takes my county a while to produce the death certificate. So at this point, I am waiting for my husband's death certificate so I will make another emergency visit and submit his death certificate. At this point, I think they are just waiting for the death certificate, but how long are they going to adjudicate my 751 is unclear, hopefully soon. My 400 will be rejected because my husband passed before the oath, and my 751 is pending because they want to see the death certificate, which should be ready by next week. What a mess, I am just so tired, on top of grieving for my love that I knew for 21 years, I have to deal with the immigration. I tried everything, and it just did not work. Hope this nightmare will end soon, hope I will get my 751 approved and I can re apply for 400 next August. My case is just complicated and kind of rare unfortunately. Hope better days are coming.

I’m so sorry for your loss:( and N400 application too. I have been following this thread for so long and you are one of the August filers that post here all the time and always encourage people. I remember you and I have the same NOA date that’s why I’m always following you. Atleast you will get your 10 years green card soon and August next year is not that far away for N400, and LA office is actually faster compared to others. My case is still pending :( because I will also have a combo interview and my field office is San Francisco which the processing time is around 1 year. Hopefully you’ll get your green card soon and hope you feel better:)

Thank you so much for your encouragement and condolences. I don't know how long it is going to take them to approve my 751 after I submit the death certificate. It is not as though it has not been opened or anything. I asked the officer if he wanted additional evidence for the 751 which I had a big stack with me, he said no because he thought I had submitted enough, I guess that was a good sign at least. Oh well, my late husband's death certificate should be ready next week, hopefully the submission of it will move things along a bit. What is with the new processing times? Now it will take up to 4 years for a field office to process 751??? What is going on with USCIS? Hope you will hear from them soon.

I know right! We are so unlucky to be August filers in 2016. It’s taking forever to be approved and now it’s even worse that they combined I751 with N400<_< This long wait is really frustrating! By the way, I hope to hear the good news from you soon!!:)
