Hi All,

Last night I received a letter from the SF local office telling me that they have to cancel my interview due to unforeseen circumstances. Then I called USCIS this morning and the operator told me that the system shows the officer is still reviewing my case and not ready for interview yet. Another applicant also shared her interview experience in another website. She is also a N-400 and I-751 combo filer and local office in SF. According to her, when she went to her N-400 interview, the officer just noticed her I-751 is still pending and denied her N-400 interview and told her that her I-751 needs to be approved first before taking the N-400 interview. Then in two weeks, she received an I-751 interview notice. She and her husband went to the interview and the officer also did the N-400 interview during the I-751 interview and she got the approval recommendation for her N-400. So right now, I just need to wait again for another interview notice, which I guess might be an I-751 interview notice. Anyway, just want to share will all the SF filers and will keep you posted if there is any update. If you also receive a letter descheduling your interview, don't panic, you are not the only one.

Thank you so much for sharing the information. I am also SF filer for N400 with I-751 pending. I already got the interview letter for N400 for next month so We’ll see if I’ll get the same letter that you got! This is weird though, I thought they would approve I-751 on the same day with N400 interview. Why would they cancel and reschedule again!

not sure, the local offices always have different policies. I will just wait and see what will happen.

Did anyone heard about USCIS agents visits house to house? I read it on fb, it says they came around 5:30 am. I think they are just checking if the marriage is legit.

USCIS won't do that unless they really suspect your marriage is a fixed marriage. If it is real, nothing to worry about.

They didn’t give me the reason. The letter says “Due to unforseen circumstances, we have had to cancel the previously scheduled interview.... We regret any inconvenience this may cause.” and the letter says I will get another seperate notice for any rescheduled interview information. I called USCIS and the person I talked to told me there was no explanation why they canceled. There could be many reasons like something happened at the SF office or maybe something else, so I don’t know if it really has to do with my I-751 pending. Hopefully they reschedule my interview soon because I have been waiting for so long and now they canceled it.:(

Sorry to hear that. That sucks. I was excited that we are getting closer to the end of this process, but I guess not yet!

who knows, maybe they fired someone and don't have enough resources to do that many interviews per day anymore.. I'm just thinking out loud.
It's just a matter of time, hang in there!

I knoww...I was so excited to get the interview notice because I hope this journey will end soon but then I had to be disappointed again because they canceled my interview. I try to stay positive and think that they might not have enough people to interview me like you said! Loll We’ll see what happens! Anyway I hope you get the interview notice soon too and I will keep you posted if I get the new interview notice.:)

My friend's I-751 case was filed on 8/19/2016. She just had the N-40 interview earlier today at Santa Ana office and the IO did not carry out the I-751 interview concurrently. IO said that my friend had to wait until her I-751 was adjudicated before the N-400 was approved. It was different from other members' cases where the IO combined the interview for both I-751 and N-400. What is the best things my friend should do now?

That’s really weird! Did your friend’s spouse go with him/her? But I heard another similar case from SF office too, that they didn’t interview her for N-400 because her I-751 is still pending. Did they just change the policy recently? Because I’m supposed to have the N-400 interview this month too and they sent me another letter saying that my interview had to be canceled due to unforseen circumstances!
