My I-751 case was approved as of May 10, and I received the hard copy yesterday.

Apparently, they are going to send me a new 10 year green card. I already did the N-400 interview and I am waiting for my oath ceremony date.

Honestly, I do not understand. I thought I was never going to have a new green card since I am almost done with the citizenship process....

Hi altito

Congrats, one question, did your spouse go with you for the N-400 interview? Coz I am in the similar situation, my I-751 was filed in July 2016, my N-400 was filed in August 2017 while my I-751 is still pending. And I just received an N-400 interview notice for next month June. I am thinking if my spouse also needs to go. Oh my local office is also SF Field Office, so I would like to hear what your experience is.

Thanks a lot.

Take your spouse with you, do whatever you can to make her or him available. Otherwise, they will reschedule your 751 interview. Why take a chance???

Hi Kincowhe....I am also SF filer for N400  and filed in August 2017 as well with I-751 pending From August 2016. May I ask if you filed online or paper? and when were you in line for interview? because I was in line since October 6 2017 and I didn’t get the interview notice yet. Thank you!

Hi

I paper filed my I-751 and N-400. I was in line for interview since September last year. So I think your interview probably will get scheduled pretty soon.

Thank you

I have a feeling for those of us who got "Your case has been transferred to a new office that has your jurisdiction over your case" updates are all 751/400 combo applicants or 751 approved applicants with 400 pending or not pending like me..

Just talked to another tier 2 officer. He told me my 751 application is definitely not at NBC, MI. For some reason, they didn't bother to update my 751 approval. I think I know what's going on, and it kind of makes sense. They didn't bother to update my 751 in the system because they figured I am going to be naturalized soon(My oath is next Wed), that is why I still got those two pending updates like most of you 751/400 joint applicants did. The suspense is whether they are going to naturalize me, I assume I will lose my eligibility by law, but why did they schedule my oath? Unless they made a mistake??? Obviously for now, my 400 has been approved. I guess I will remain cautiously optimistic and realistic, if they end up naturalizing me, that will be a miracle and I will try to get the stamp on the copy of my 445 oath form so I have evidence for my own record and it is for self protection as instructed by my lawyer. If not, I will go to USCIS as an emergency basis and request them to resume my green card production immediately, I already have that 2 page packet(copy of my 751 approval letter and the title page to request) signed and ready to go if that happens. I also have an infopass appointment on 5/30 if they don't accept my request as an emergency. We will see what happens next week. I am tired and I just want this to be over. Either reject my eligibility or naturalize me or mail me the green card already. I should not have been in a situation where I always have to have a plan B because of uncertainty, but I am doing my best, I have been. I can't wait for this to be over.

It’s really weird that you got the same notification like most of us who has I751/N400 pending because your I-751 is already approved! Why would they transfer your case to NBC!? I guess it was just an automated system that they sent to everyone to let people feel better for this long wait! Haha. I have a feeling that you will be naturalized instead of getting 10 years green card! Can’t wait to hear the good news from you!! Hang in there, it’s almost over!!:)

I hope you are right, from your mouth to god's ear. I guess they did approve my 400, otherwise, they would not have scheduled my oath ceremony unless they made a mistake. However, I am going to be cautiously optimistic and realistic at the same time. I will go in and just do what I am supposed to do and turn in the form i already filled out and see what happens. It is either the naturalization or green card status. Of course I am hoping for the former, but I also want to be realistic so I don't set myself for disappointment. We will see what happens. thanks for the wish and encouragement. One more week, and I will find out what the hell is going on. Good luck to you, I hope you get approved soon too.

Definitely, take you spouse with you. Mine came with me but he was not interviewed. As a matter of fact, I was all dressed up to go to my work after the interview and the IO thought I was the lawyer and my husband the applicant. Ever since everything went so smooth. Overall it was very easy and relaxed.

Good luck in your interview
