Hey guys, quick question about what you all think of this. I finally got a job since I got my EAD. Is it necessary to re-fill out some of the forms (like the I-130/I-130A, I-485) that asks for my employment history?? Or will this be taken care of at the interview? I plan on telling the IO anyways. Should we also fill out a new I-864 since my husband has his 2017 tax return?? Thanks!

Not necessary, this can wait until removal of conditions 👍

Thanks! I figured it wasn't necessary (phew, less paperwork for us to take care of) but for some reason, I kept wondering about it.

Congrats on the new job! :D :D

Thanks so much, man! It feels good to finally be contributing financially.

On another note, y'all, do not put off printing photographs for your interview. We have so many from the past 12 months alone. My husband had to tell me to not print every single one out to conserve ink but I'm a very sentimental person. 😅

We printed about 30 pictures (a few for each year we'd been together) and the officer didn't want to see even one!  :D

Hello Everyone!

We had out AOS interview today at the Atlanta USCIS office.  Our appt was for 8 so we arrived at 7:30 and they called us at around 9.  Here’s how it went...the interviewer took our identification,

asked us to swear that we would be truthful then she went through all our application. Questions asked:

How did we meet?

What dates did we go on?

When did we decide to get married?

Have we met each other’s parents?

When did we get married?

Was it at the courthouse or a full on wedding ceremony?

How many guests?

Where does my husband work?

What does he do there?

She asked him what city I was born in and vice vera.

She also asked each of the others date of birth

Then she asked if we had updated evidence to submit:  I provided my most recent tax return, 2017 w2 and 2 months of paystubs (to show that my income has not decreased), updated lease agreement, updated car and medical insurance cards and new wedding pictures (we got married at the courthouse last year, but we had a large wedding with friends and family last month).

All in all the interview took about 20 mins she said she would recommend approval but we received an RFE for the expired medical, so our case is pending until then, but thankfully they allow us to drop it off at the office rather than having to mail it in to a lockbox.

If your case was  submitted August of 2017 or  earlier I highly suggest getting a new medical so you don’t have any delays.

Good luck to you all ❤️

We only brought the updated returns and w2 and she did not ask for a new I-864.  I’m not sure if an updated one is a requirement, but every interviewer has their own style so I suggest bringing another one just Incase it’s asked for.

Did you get the RFE in the mail. We also had our interview same day as yours and I can see a letter coming in the mail for us. Just thinking what it could be since they sent 2 letters

She printed the RFE for the medical in front of us, but we expect to receive a copy of it in the mail.

Did they tell you why you need an RFE?

No she didn't tell us. She just said they will get back to us. If the letter is RFE will they send it to both the beneficiary and the petitioner because one letter is for me and one for my husband

Hey all, so we had our interview and let me just say it was quite the experience.

Our time was scheduled for before noon. However we ended up waiting 3 hours and 15 minutes past our slot. Yes you read that right. There were several people in the waiting area and most of them were there for N-400 interviews. By the time the IO finally called us, we were pretty delirious from exhaustion. Husband and I hadn't slept much the night before and I forgot to bring snacks. 😓

The IO was super quick since it was practically their closing time. He took my biometrics and our additional evidence. He even handed some of it back to me since our file was ENORMOUS and he also photocopied our ID's. He never asked to look at our photographs.

He started the interview portion with me:

- When and where did I meet husband?

- Have I met his parents and what are their names?

- When and where did we get married?

- Is this my first marriage?

Then to my husband:

- Have you met your wife's parents and what are their names?

- Is this your first marriage?

- Do you have any children together?

And that was it. He asked me the I-485 yes/no questions and asked us to wait outside while he showed his supervisor our file. We waited 10ish minutes and he finally came out, handed us a letter stating we were approved and congratulated us. My husband and I were both pretty shocked at how basic the whole thing felt. We both were expecting a more in-depth conversation about our relationship. But since we had to wait half the afternoon, we were glad it was quick. No online status changes yet because the office was closed by the time we left. We were actually the last people there, which left me incredulous since our original time was before noon. I thought we were going to be outta there within 45 minutes, maybe an hour.

Anyways, that's it for us!!!!! I'm gonna sleep until next week now. 😛

Hi, everyone! Very new to VJ but I was wondering if any of you here has filed in LA (specifically at the Chatsworth office)?

Filed August 2017
Received EAD & AP November 2017

And pretty much after that nothing has happened. We have requested for a renewal of my EAD as it's expiring soon and I needed to renew my driver's license... But pretty much nothing. :( I was a little sad and upset earlier after hearing that a former colleague of my husband has gone through the whole process, filed on October 2017 and has already been through the interview. Anyone who still hasn't had their interview? We haven't received any RFE or whatever. :(
