Hi guys, I finally got good news this morning as I woke up to an email saying "We took action on your case". The action is that my card is in production!!!

Now I have a couple questions:

- How long does it take between "card in production" and card in my hands?

-The update is only for my work authorization. For my travel document, it says "we corrected your name" (which might be annoying as I hyphenated my maiden name and my husband's but they can call me however they want if that means I get my card right). Does it automatically mean that I get a combo card?

I can't believe this is happening yall!

You should receive your card in a little over a week. Just wait for the "we have mailed your card" and it could be earlier

Hello dear Aug filers, it's very early but I happened to wake up very early and decided to check my phone. The long-awaited combo card approval has finally happened!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :dancing:

Some nitty-gritty details to help others still waiting:

We got an RFIE on Feb 1 and we didn't send our response to it until March. Our online status updated on March 19 to say USCIS received it. We were busy until the end of the month. On March 30, I contacted the ombudsman. I think this was crucial. After they sent their confirmation email to me, I replied to that email to say that I've been waiting eight months already, the lack of an EAD was preventing me and my husband from doing certain things (like me getting a driver's license and whatnot). If you contact the ombudsman, don't be afraid to emphasize how DIRE IT IS you get the EAD!! Be specific and be a little dramatic, okay?

Then on April 2, I ALSO contacted my senator. This was my second email to her. The first time was in January. It was shortly after my first email to her that we received the RFIE update. So I figured it wouldn't hurt to let her office know too. Then I called the ombudsman's office and the man on duty told me my case was being assigned to an analyst that day. I said, "Okay thanks, I've just been waiting a long time."

Fast-forward through an agonizingly stressful two weeks due to low finances and regularly scheduled bouts of anxiety and I finally received the approval update.

Don't be afraid to be noisy about your case at this point if you still don't have the EAD!!!! Still keeping my fingers and toes crossed for everyone.

Glad you got your combo card approved. You have been positive on this forum in lifting others and i am sure you are ecstatic. Your patience and support is overwhelming. Congrats.

YAAASSS!!!!!!!! Soooooo happy for you!!!!!!!! I think it is the combo card (we should have it by next week). I don't have an update for my AP. I wonder if our files were done by the same officer! I got the email at like 3:30 AM.

Solution: if you have not committed any crimes anywhere, just approve it. haha No interviews necessary.

I dont think that would be an option at all. Immigration in all aspects isnt something only based on criminal records. Imagine how many fake marriages, people with bad intentions (not that we dont have that already) and all of that coming to the country.

Honestly if we think about all the security issues, not only that but economy, population we would give USCIS credit for their job.

Ahh congrats!! So you'll be able to attend your wedding celebrations after all!

So it's almost always a combo card if you applied for both. I was nervous about this because I cared more about the AP than the EAD, but even now my AP is on "we received your case" online, lol.

Since I was too anxious to wait and find out if it was a combo card, I called and asked a Tier 2 officer, who confirmed that it was a combo card. The Tier 1 officers don't have this information (they also think the Tier 2 officers don't have this info because they're clueless).

You'll know for sure when you receive the approval notices in the mail - these will be two separate envelopes - one for the EAD, one for the AP. You'll be able to see them coming in the Letters section of USPS informed delivery, and the card itself will show up as a "package" on USPS' site.

Tagging @mushroomspore since this info is relevant to her as well.

I see what you mean, but I assumed that if you've never committed a crime you are less likely to have "bad intentions" and do fake marriages.

Second your "being noisy" recommendation. My case didn't move for almost seven months until I contacted my Congressman and the Ombudsman... then the card got approved in two weeks. Good luck to everyone who is still waiting!
