Girl noting to be nervous about! The hard part is over :)  Its a good thing Reni got his vaccines before the medical. Everyone told my fiancée to wait for the medical but she end up paying way more and still has to go to her doctor and get the MMR.

Friday is around the corner so I want to wish the 2 of you the best of luck and you a safe flight on Wednesday. I feel the butterflies with you cause we endured this so long together. To those last Mohicans I wish you all the luck and positive vibes. WE GOT THIS!!!!

Good Morning Guys....I need your opinion on this (all answers are appreciated)

As you know, our interview is this Friday; however, yesterday I had Reni call the medical clinic to check on the status of his medical exam being sent over to the Embassy and they advised that while it takes 2 weeks for them to send it over (keep in mind the hospital is down the street from the Embassy), the lady said that they will prepare his medical report and will have it sent over on Thursday and for him to call on Thursday to see if it went out. The gap of time between our medical exam and interview is 9 days.

Now, when we scheduled his interview, the May calendar was not available for us to pick any dates and the way that JA does their process, you have to schedule your interview first and then schedule your medical exam, but the medical clinic picked our date based on the date of his interview (they don't allow you to pick the date yourself for the medical exam).

So, now the May calendar is open and they have April 30th (Monday), May 1st (Tuesday) and May 3rd (Thursday), available for the interview and the same time which is 10am. I asked Reni if he wanted to change the date and he said that he prefers not to change but if I want to change it then for me to make the decision.

So my question is....do you think I should push the date back to either April 30th which is a Monday or May 1st which is a Tuesday? That would be 12-13 days after the medical. Or should I just leave things the way they are and go forward with it this Friday?

FYI...My departure date is May 6th (although, if necessary I can stay and will stay May 8th or 9th so that we can fly out together).

Ugh... this process really tests us all of the way, huh?  Personally, I would keep the interview as scheduled but... that's just me.  If you can't pick the medical in JA and they base that date on your interview date, I would trust (I know that's a silly word to use in any of this process) that they know what they're doing.  I believe that, the worst that could happen, is that they give you an okay at the interview dependent on the good medical when they receive it if it's still pending receipt.  Just my thoughts; others may think differently.  You and Reni are both in my thoughts... :)

You share the same opinion as Reni, his mom, my mom and my best friend. And I kinda feel the same way because my concern is if I change it online right now, with the date being so close, I don't want there to be any system errors or issues where they delay the process any further. The only reason why I would WANT to change it is because I know Reni's concern about flying to the U.S. by himself after his horrible experience 2 years ago when trying to visit me with his tourist visa and how he was treated at Orlando airport. The differences are he's not doing his POE in Orlando, he's doing it at Philly airport and he's not coming here on a tourist visa, he's coming on a fiancé visa, so I would believe that his POE experience will be better and a lot smoother if I'm unable to fly back with him.

The PoE will be cake... no worries about that but I do understand his concerns; Roma was very worried about the interview because she had previously been denied a tourist visa at the Thai embassy but... it all worked out.  I can't imagine that anything is going to go wrong now for you, two; you've paid your dues and then some... by the way, today is our 2 month wedding anniversary; can't wait until you and Reni are celebrating, too!  :)

HAPPY 2 MONTH ANNIVERSARY YOU TWO!!!!!!

Mike, I can always count on you to be my voice of reason. I think with everything we've been through, I'm gonna just leave it the way it is and hopefully, the medical will be there as they said by Thursday or the very least there in enough time to before I leave. But you're right, POE should be a breeze. Philly airport is extremely smooth and because he's coming on a fiancé visa, he's my responsibility and not the theirs as it was said to me by the customs agent when he attempted to visit me with his tourist visa.

We've been all this waiting and made it this far, I don't see it being anything wrong at this point either!

I would not change it. For the same reason you already stated, at this point, after waiting so long, it's hust not worth taking the risk of a system error. And we know they are possible.

as Michael said, POE is super smooth, I've never heard anyone complain about it even having visa or entry issues before. Nothing was asked to me, nothing and I was alone.

when I had my interview they did not have my medical exams, so the CO said everything looked good but she couldnt approve it yet because of my medical, but it got at the embassy at that very same day, in the afternoon. Just one thing that you might want to check is how long it takes to get his visa issued after the interview. Will you guys pick it up at the embassy?

I had problems with that, but I (anxious as I am) bought my tickets before the interview lol I went to the post office get my passport one day before my flight. So, to be honest with you, that is probably the only delay you can have at this point.

It doesn't take long at all. The hospital is right down the street from the Embassy (like a half mile down the street, maybe less that they can walk it to the Embassy). With all documents available and ready at the Embassy, the visa is typically issued 3 days after the interview. Which is why I hope that the lady at the hospital does what she said and gets the medical exam to the Embassy by Thursday because if it's there and once I hear Visa Approved, I'm gonna ask if it's possible for us to come back and pick up his visa and brown envelope. In my country's portal, it really comes down to the Embassy officer (and the mood they are in at the time). Normally, when the USC is present, they will extend the courtesy and ask when the USC is traveling back so that they expedite the visa packet and have it picked up at the Embassy. But that is solely based on all documents being present and available. There is another member on here whose fiancé just had their interview on 4/16 and the CEAC Tracker said it was issued on 4/19 and that was without the USC being present. It just takes another 3-4 days for it to be delivered to the DHL store location in Montego Bay for pick up.

Hopefully it's there on Thursday or sent out Thursday as the lady at the hospital said they would do and if so, it will be there right on time for the interview. If not, I'm staying the entire first week in May and if necessary (meaning the CEAC tracker shows that it has been issued in that week), I will stay until May 9th. May 2nd would be exactly 2 weeks after the medical exam. So, at most, he and I will be staying on top things and calling every day to make sure it was sent out. Truthfully, the lady said that yesterday that she pulled his file to prepare it and get it to the embassy by Thursday. What I think it will come down to is if all the test results are not back yet for them to complete his file. I'm not worried about anything showing up in his medical exam that would cause the delay and irregular results because he just had his physical a couple months prior (he's a certified CPR and has to passed his physical and CPR certification twice a year). So it just balls down to them getting it to the Embassy.

Awesome! That's super fast. I don't think you will have any trouble then! Good luck and let us know

Reni got a call from the medical clinic asking him to come back up tomorrow morning at 10am with $3000JM ($25.00 USD) so they can go over his medical exam with him and send ot over to the embassy. They didn't tell him what or why he needed the money. And of course I arrive at the same time as he wil be in Kingston so I won't be able to go with him and will have to wait at his mom's until he comes back.

I'm trying not to think negative but with all that's happened thus far thats hard to do. I'm thinking that since we called them yesterday to see about them getting his medical exam to the embassy before his interview that they must have realized he's missing an immunization shot and that's it because they said they will send the medical exam directly over to the embassy afterwards.

But I don't want to think that there could be anything else that would hinder him from getting approved on Friday.

Am I worrying for nothing guys?

Think positive; if they're asking for money, I can't see that it would be anything to postpone your intended timeline... they still know when his interview is scheduled.  :)

Okay, so... I'll think positively for you... :)
