So yesterday my fiancée went for her medical in Kingston. Her appointment was 8am and she arrived at 6:30am with 2 other ppl on the same bus she took down. She was number 1 and completed the entire medical by 11am. She had to fill out a medical history form, take a chest X-Ray and 2 vaccines ($14,000). They informed her she needs an MMR vaccine but is allowed to get it done at her private doctor(thank God because vaccines are half the price at her private doctor) before the interview date. She said everyone was nice but the gentleman who went over her medical history kept badgering her about marijuana use. She said she never used it and never had any interest in using it. He kept pressing the issue until finally saying ok. I'm glad I told her to prepare herself to be there for 5-6 hours so she was happy to be the first one finished. If she would of arrived later she probably would of been there all day lol

That's absolutely crazy how many times he asked her about the marijuana usage. I just sent your post to my fiance so he could be ready and understand what he's gonna have to go through.

So all she paid total was $14,000 JA for the whole medical exam? That's not bad.

Reni has his medical exam tomorrow morning at 8am. He will be starting his journey at 3am in the morning to go to Kingston because he has to get to MoBay to get the bus that goes to Kingston. It would have been nice if both of our fiance's would have had it on the same day.

Asking for everyone to keep their thoughts and prayers for Reni as he journeys to Kingston as we speak to attend his medical exam. He's been on the road since 3am this morning (4am EST) as it is a 3-4 hour commute from his Parish which is on the west side of the island to Kingston which is on the southeast side of the island. His medical exam is scheduled for 8am and of course I've made sure he's ready to go!

I will share his experience later in the day after he completes his medical exam.

He should be fine for his medical. I'm looking forward to reading about his experience. I just got my case number so that medical exam is right around the corner for me ^_^

noo she had to pay $23,450JMD for the medical and then an additional $14,000JMD for the vaccines. If they didn't allow her to do the MMR at her private doctor it would of been $21,000 for her vaccines. My fiancée left Savlamar at 2am and arrived at 6:30. She said she paid the driver extra to drop her directly to the clinic because she didn't know how to get there from where they let them off at the bus stop in Kingston. I'm sure there are buses that go directly from Negril to Kingston. My fiancée said she went to the bus park and ask the drivers if there is a direct bus to Kingston and what is the earliest time it leaves.

Tell Reni not to let them make him second guess himself, they can be persistent.

She have to get all the vaccines (minus the MMR one they said she can do when she gets here) or did she already have some of the vaccines done and the $14,000 was for the ones she missed or didn't have?

He left at 3am this morning and got there a little after 9am because of traffic. He had a friend of his drive him the bus park in MoBay so he could get the bus from there to go to Kingston. I'm sure he'll be done soon.

He got done about an hour ago but he was so hungry that he wanted to eat first and then he will call me after he's done and making his way back to the tax/bus drive to get a ride back home.

Trust me, once he spells the beans, I will definitely post it!

@AnaUmo....so far, what he has told me is that it was a long but easy day. He only paid $30320 JMD total which included the medical exam fee which is $23320 and only paid $7000 JMD for 2 vaccines that he needed because he had everything else. I would suggest that if you can or haven't done so already, try to get as vaccines/immunizations before the medical because it will cost you less to have it done by your doctor but at the medical exam it will cost a whole lot more. I had him go get the shots that he need in advance and we knew he was missing one of them so the fact that he only had to get 2 of them and it cost $7000 JMD is awesome. Also, try your best to get there early. If you appointment is scheduled for 8am, get there before or right at 8am. If Reni didn't get stuck in Kingston traffic, he would have probably gotten done earlier because he had a 8am appointment but with traffic he got there an hour late. He was done by 2:30PM his time (3:30pm EST).

Once he gets home tonight I will get more in detail and post the whole thing. He has a long ride back so I want him to get some sleep.

Thank you! I was wondering if I could get the vaccines before I had to do the medical exam. That's great to know that everything went well for him. Was he pressed about marijuana usage? How did you know beforehand what vaccines were needed btw?

He hasn't gone into detail about how much he was pressed about it but I think it's because he would rather us talk about it instead of text but he said the questions weren't hard. Just make sure to be persistent and not stammer or stumble if they repeatedly ask you about it. Considering he doesn't and has never smoked marijuana, I'm sure he was so unbothered by the line of question; however, I will find out more about it later and let you know.

Regarding the vaccines...here is what the U.S. law requires:

U.S. immigration law requires that all applicants be vaccinated for the following diseases:

Mumps, measles, rubella, polio, tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis, influenza type B, hepatitis B, varicella (chicken pox), pneumococcal, and influenza.

However, I told him about 4-5 months ago to go to his doctor and have them give him the required U.S. vaccines that he needs or was still missing. At the time he only needed 3, the doctor only had 2 in stock so we knew he would be getting one vaccine at the medical. Just go to your doctor and let them know you need the required vaccinations/immunizations for U.S. immigrating purposes.
