313 Days. 43 days since RFE received.

I signed up for the new USCIS website today and it says they received my original petition on 6/19/17. The app and my receipt say 6/15/17. I'm really confused. The site also tells me my case is "no longer on hold." I don't get it.

Every time I see you posted I rush over to see an approval. I'm still here with you luv!

The new website gives you a different date. The old one is the received one and the new one is called something else or vice versa. Anyway. The old website is the day they received your petition, the new one is when they entered it in their system. For vj and stuff you keep the old date. For enquiries and talking to tier one you need the new websites date. No reason to panic there.

About your status I'm sorry I don't know. Maybe @Naes has seen it before?

Thank you. It helps to know people are waiting and hoping with me. I think the status is because the file gets put on hold when they send out an RFE. Since they received mine, it's no longer on hold.

Hey guys, i am not from this month filler just applying, but i posted a question and havnt gotten aswer maybe one of you can help please?

I am petitioner and i visited my home country for 2 months to visit my family and fiancee. Do i need to write adress abroad in last 5 year physical adresses or should 2 months visit is just a visit.

What u guys did? Thank u so much

Anything after 6 months is considered a residence. That’s why they ask you to provide police certificates of any country in which you have resided for over 6 months. 2 months is a visit, so no, do not list as a residence.

How does everyone pack up and leave their home so quickly? Makes me think that I’m moving too slow.

i am right in saying that I have 4 months from the date of my medical to enter the US? (It would have only of been 2 months and 2 weeks from my medical until my flight)

my flight is next Sunday and i have almost sold everything in my apartment. I have sent 5 boxes already and have another 3x boxes and 3 suitcases to send (lol - I’m your typical woman!)

I’m so excited! I thought I done everything in perfect timing but people are flying into the states so quickly.

Your medical is valid for 3 or 6 months depending on your health.

I will be able to move real quick. I am in the middle of selling my house atm so I will move into a vacationhome as of July 1. That home is completely furnished so all I need to bring is the things I will take with me to America. I am already going through my possessions and deciding what to take and what to toss. Things I want to take but don't need immediately are being sent through mail as we speak. Once I get my NOA-2 (I'm a December filer) I will give my boss my resignation letter. I will most likely stay on the job for 6 more weeks but I have to see what the embassy times are by then. I expect to be on a flight within 2 weeks of having my visa on hand.

I am so excited for you though! I can't wait to be in your shoes. It must be so amazing knowing that its just a few more days until you never have to leave your loved one ever again.

Oh, I don’t think I looked to see how long it’s valid for. I’m a bit paranoid now. Do I need this just for entry or does it need to be valid for by the time I file AOS. My wedding isn’t until 24 June!

I am am excited he has already unpacked a lot of my stuff. My grandad passed so I sent a few of my gran,as belongings (her China and glass sets) as she passed last year  May. No idea where a lot will go but most can stay in boxes.

No need to panic. Your medical is most likely valid for 6 months. Only with health issues it will sometimes be 3 months. You need to have your POE within that valid timeframe. Your medical does not need to be valid when filing for the AOS. But it is easier if it is, cause I believe you need to have a new medical done if you file for AOS after the medial expires.

For AOS the validity is 1 year so you have 6 more months after the first 6 months but I wouldn’t wait too much. If it takes too long you may have to redo it.

Just had a quick read on here. It’s valid for 6 months for entry and for AOS medical needs to have been issued within a year so I’m good. Phew!

I’m so excited! I thought I done everything in perfect timing but people are flying into the states so quickly.

I don't know how they leave so fast either....

I'm the petitioner, we were approved on March 28th in Brasil.  I did not try to influence Ana's departure time.  We discussed very early on - how much time do you need to exit....3 weeks we said back then.

But, that was just not realistic for us.

After our approval in March - she picked June 10 to depart Brasil.

Enough time for her to prepare for everything - say goodbye (temporarily) to friends and family...just to get organized and to calmly close down your entire life and move to another Country.

Enough time to purchase airfare with a reasonable lead time (Brasil is brutally expensive airfare) and enough time for me to get organized at home - to make ready for her arrival.

All the logistics of coming together under one roof.  I don't think it is to be done hastily.

It's really a big deal - because it affects me, too.  I'm sad that she must leave everything and everyone that has been so familiar to her.  I have been to Brasil, twice to be with her.  Her family and friends

are mine, too.  I miss them all - myself.

I think the fast exit can work for many - it does as people are excited to get on with it.

It is also good, as the petitioner, not to push your loved one to fast - let them decide what they need to do and how much time to do it.

They should depart their home Country with good feelings and peace of mind.  Ready for their new adventures and new life with you.

As the man - well, you have to defer to what you know your woman needs.

You already know how she does things - she is either gonna move fast or take a little time,

whichever it is - let her set it.

For the women - I guess you know how your man is and what he needs.

Anyway - Its June 10, POE Atlanta, for us...then on to Charlotte.  I'm flying to Brasil a few days before - and we are flying back and entering together.

We are both patiently waiting...and both excited.  Should be fun....

LOL

Martin,

In January it took 22 days for our approval to reach NVC.

When you call NVC in a couple of weeks you will hit option #1 & then #7 (if I recall correctly)

They will ask for the WAC#....

They will either responded..."we haven't received anything"

or ask for other information (names and birthdays)...when they ask for this identifying information you will know they have received the petition.

Now you can ask for the Case Number.

For here on....it is Country and embassy specific.  (every place is different)

The best info you will receive, from this point forward, is to find others ahead of you in your embassy to

understand the process and how you engage it.  The form of correspondence,  online registration and documentation (DS-160) process, exam & interview scheduling process, interview documentation requirements, police certificates, exam sites, fees, etc.

(use information from others -  not specific to your embassy process - carefully)

From here on - you are in control of much of the process to the interview...

Good Luck - you're over the hump......

I'm happy for you.

I tried my luck hahha, still 6 weeks is their answer

It will be quicker than that!  It seems to take about 12 to 13 days from NOA2 to NVC received.  It was only 8 days from NVC received to "Ready" at the embassy.  Get ready to hold your hat.  It flies from here.  It was only 40 days from NOA2 to our interview.  It could have been 10 days sooner but we scheduled the interview while I would already be there for a visit.
