So Iza said that at the fisrt window they only asked her my name and how long we have been together and sent her to a second window. Maybe this was cause of the whole paperwork mishap and they wanted to keep on schedule, who knows. She didnt really say anything about the second window she went to. But then she was called into the interview with the American CO. They asked her what my ex wifes name. when i was divorced. how many times we met in person (5). Iza said she seemed impressed by that and told her that her last interview only met once. She asked if she knows my kids, she said yes she has met them personally in ph and talks to them every night. She asked the little ones there names and if they miss their brother and sister. Then She looked through our photo album and was smiling and joking with Iza during that time. Then told her congradutations your approved.:D She didnt look through any other of her paperwork. Now time to plan their trip home!

hi there we interviewed on the same day 😊 got approved too... what is your new status ceac?

Hi Everyone! So I'm finally with my fiance! The whole process was worth the wait! :)

For the others here who are also already in the US, I just want to ask a couple of questions and I would really appreciate your help. Here goes ...

1. Can I apply for a driver's license while on the K1 visa or should we wait til we apply for AOS? (Never had a license)

2. When can I apply for an SSN?

3. What can I do while waiting ??? :jest:

I am obviously running out of things to do. lol

So how many days was it from NOA2 to interview?

It is 40 but it could have been 25. There were earlier openings but I already had a trip planned so we set the appointment during my visit.

Things seem to move pretty quickly with getting the interview there...doesn’t seem to be the case in Montreal unfortunately!

1. Remember, your K-1 visa expires on entry.  Your validity of stay is governed by your I-94 - so, 90 days.  This depends by state; check with your local DMV.  Here in MN, you can apply for a license as long as your I-94 is valid.

2. Immediately after entry.  Your electronic I-94 will be entered in the system once you get through passport control at POE.

3. Always worth it to look for jobs after you've had AOS biometrics - it's worth a shot to try for an expedite if you get an offer.
