Greetings all.

I filed the I129F for my fiancee back in June 2017. I haven't heard anything since. I have submitted TWO case inquiries, one in January and one this past Tuesday. I have called uscis several times over the past nine months and nobody can tell me anything other than "your case is still pending" and "you'll just have to wait". Is this the exception or the rule?

There are a few more things you can try though results do not seem to be too well.   @John & Rose may be able to give numbers they tried.

You are not alone there are at least 12 people we know still waiting.

June 9th NOA1          December 15th NOA2      January 18th NVC Received

January 29th NVC Number     January 31 NVC left    Feb 5th Embassy Received

Feb 9th Filed DS-160 and scheduled interview      March 21st Medical 😭   March 27 second medical

April 02 medical results   Interview: Grandmother's Birthday. :)  Arrival of Fiancee: 04/13/2018

My guess is that they just look at a computer screen.  I doubt if they go and pull the actual petition away from the adjudicator just to tell you it is sitting in his pile.  They really are hor$ecrap...

Agreed!!! ;)

Sounds like a similar boat as me. I have been to two Infopass appointments, submitted inquiries, contacted my congresswoman and submitted an inquiry through the ombudsman. Have you tried any of those angles? Of course I’m still waiting so can’t say it’s working lol...all we have been told is that the security checks are still pending and until they are complete they cannot make a decision. I just pray this nightmare ends soon!

I have submitted inquiries and today contacted both of my senators, my representative, and the director of service center operations (if the e-mail address I found for him was a good one, it was in a forum). Who would I do the infopass appointments with and how do I contact the ombudsman? I'm not being told even that much, just that it's pending and I need to wait.

Usually you can get married with passport or some other document but each state has different criteria.   I know here they prefer both to have SSN, but in the fine print it says if one party does not have a SSN then fill out why.

Well, I suppose we'll find out for sure when we go to the court to apply for the license. Thanks! :)

I wonder if one could proceed with AoS without an SSN, if it were to come to that?

As an aside, all this "YOU HAVE 90 DAYS to GET MARRIED AND ADJUST STATUS  hurry hurry" ####### kinda kills me after all this nonsense making us wait so fricking long just to have our interviews and receive a visa in the first place.

To top it all off, I hear that all the rest of the processing delayed now too!

Sheesh! And I thought the stressful parts were all over with now

HURRRRRYYYY  UP....file your papers....get your SSN...get married....file more papers....NOW.....siddown and WAIT!! Just wait, we'll get to ya when we get to ya.

Good grief! Meanwhile I'm still stuck in 'GET SSN then GET MARRIED mode" I don't even know how or when or what paperwork to file to proceed with AoS yet. I guess I better look into that this week.

You can schedule an Infopass appointment online through a local office on the USCIS website...there is also information on their website as to submitting an inquiry to the ombudsman. Hope this helps.

Still here. 😑

GP have only just released my medical letter. Set me back £50!!! Ughhhhhh.

Fingers crossed I don't have to reschedule my embassy interview AGAIN.

Hoping that I can come back on the 9th with some good news.

I have 10 shifts left at work. That's left me feeling excited and anxious... Eeeeeeeeeee.

One thing that I have learned nothing is free.  Money flows like water.

Hope you have good news and have your medical letter soon.

I have been waiting about 2 months to hear from the Montreal embassy regarding an interview date, is this normal? It looks like other people have received theirs in about three weeks?

Thanks!

Have you received your Packet 4 already? If so, you can just go ahead and schedule an interview yourself using their web app. Or you can call 514-398-9695 & ask to be scheduled. They are open 8:30AM TO 11:00AM (Monday to Friday, except holidays)

CAUTION FOR EVERYONE RE: APPLYING FOR YOUR SSN TOO EARLY

Good to know.  Just yesterday I was searching for SSN info and found this: http://www.visajourney.com/content/ssn  It says to wait 2 weeks after POE to apply.  My county says a SSN is a must but only if you have one, otherwise just visa, passport, drivers license, etc.  Crossing fingers because our plan is to get married the day after POE.   Keep us up-to-date on your progress...good luck!
