Hello Junies,

I had my POE at Peace Bridge yesterday and it was a breeze! I posted a review for anyone interested.

Yes, it's all worth it. It's been almost a year since I've been here at home in Columbus. And six months since I've seen my fiance! What a grueling process but now that it's over, it feels like waking up from a bad dream.

Hang in there, everyone. All will be well.

(L)

Congratulations! Enjoy these first wonderful moments of being together forever❤️

Congratulations to everyone. Seems like a great time for Junies.

I have my POE tomorrow!

could I BE any more nervous? (All my friends watching folks out here get it).

now. Just to be clear. I have my passport with visa, my medical result CD and my sealed envelope with me.

Is there ANYTHING else I need?

Just for safety, I have my entire K1 visa folder in my backpack with all kinds of docs.

Just want to make sure I’m gonna be okay. For some reason, I’m terrified to cross the border.

If they gave you a vaccination report, make a copy of it for your own reference and give the original to the officer too. I wish you a safe trip. ;)

Hey guys!! Does anyone have any insight on this...we found a GREAT deal for my fiance's flight to the US, it goes through Paris and Montreal (YUL). Canada has a pretty straightforward Transit Visa process which we are doing now, and it's free. We just have to fill out the app and scan in his US Visa (our K-1), his passport, passport pic, itinerary, & pics. But I'm realizing that Montreal may be his actual US POE. I tried to find info on this, but all I find are Canadians leaving Canada and Montreal being their POE. I I have been looking all over VJ but I can't find someone going THROUGH Montreal from another country on a K-1. If someone knows anything on this or where I can find info, please pass it on! THANKS!!!

I have not found anything but should just be a transit through Canadian airport to the US, it would not be the POE for the US since Canada is a different country.

Montreal IS considered a US Port of Entry since Canadian airports have US Custom and Border Protection (CBP) Preclearance. I just haven't read up on anyone going through Canada with a K-1 Visa specifically, at least not someone travelling from another country.  There are plenty of K-1 immigrants FROM canada, going through the "US POE" at the Montreal Airport for example.

I know my question is very specific, but just wondering if anyone else know something about it.

Montreal is a US POE! :D My fiance went through Toronto, and that was considered his POE. He went from Brazil to Canada, and Canada to the US. Here is where you can find that information.
