Halo house,

please I need help in determining if my fiance will need a sponsor for our K1 visa application.

Since he lost his State job 3 years ago, he hasn't been making enough income. However, he started making good income a month ago.

His income for the previous 2 years tax documents are below poverty level while his current income is above the poverty level.

Will his current earnings/income be sufficient so we wouldn't need a sponsor?

to get the K1 you don't need tax returns.  just a couple of pays stubs and a declaration will do fine.

The AOS process is much more exhaustive and requires a lot more proof and a higher income.

If you start the process now you will have a whole year to file taxes and you should be good by the time you file for your green card

Perpetual self deprecating sarcasm - its a way of life!

Your visa is in final processing. If you have not received it in more than 10 working days, please see the webpage for contact information of the embassy or consulate where you submitted your application.

if it says issued that means it's approved, I'm assuming.....

VOH!

Came in the mail this morning!

Had taken the gamble and already booked my flight 2 weeks ago seeing that I have time left here because of work. But now with VOH I can for sure say that my POE at LAX will be April 11th!  :D

Yes. It means it has been printed and you will get it in the next couple of days. Congrats!

Amazing, congrats! My interview is next week but I've taken the same gamble and booked flights, going back to the UK first but POE at LAX should be May 2nd!! See you there :)
