Hi all,

Can anyone share the K1 Requirement Documents pdf files that are required for the interview @ the Sydney consulate?

The link seems to be broken when I attempt to click on 'k1 required documents' --> https://au.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee-visa/the-interview/

Thank you!

We got our Visa a couple of weeks ago and I was just looking at the reviews and I noticed alot of people that got approved and they give the interview a 4 out of 5 rating. I would say if you get approved you should give the embassy a 5. It is a big big deal to do this work and I have not heard anyone say anything that deserves a 4. Give these people a good score. They work hard and are good at what they do.

Understand what you are saying, but that is your opinion. Can you imagine telling that to someone who has waiting weeks, months or years before they are approved and their file is sat at the embassy?

Even though some people were approved, not everyone has had a pleasant experience.  You can read in the sub forums of officers that have attitudes or ask very intimate and personal and unnecessary questions. Many of us work hard in our day to day jobs, but it doesn’t necessarily warrant us to be given rating because we do the job we’re paid for.

Realistically when working in numbers, 4 would still be seen as a good store. Plus it’s only VJ. It’s not as if it’s a review on google or yelp lol.

I disagree completely. The rating should be based on the overall experience, not solely the person getting approved. If you were approved and the person was rude or the waiting time was ridiculous that does not warrant a perfect score.

That is a matter of opinion. Personally, I think in some cases people get clouded by the euphoria of being approved and give a rating that is too high, instead of judging the overall experience they are just so happy to be approved and give a 4 or 5 undeservedly.

They work hard? Actually, don't many embassy/consulate staffers have a rep for not working hard? Not saying it is fair either, but it is best to avoid blanket statements like these and consider them individually.

Good at what they do? We cannot really say this, what we can say is how well they performed their service for our individual case. When combined together with other peoples scores and discounted for factors like the euphoria I mentioned you may get a better idea of the actual performance level of the embassy.

I am SO happy for you. Can’t believe we got our approval on the same day! ( I think I once said I didn’t want to be approved till you guys were and boom there we have it!!) You have been a real inspiration to so many here with your patience and stoic attitude. I just wish there were no more June or July filers left here so crossing my fingers for swift(er) approvals xxx

Hi guys!

Just looking for some advice .

I submitted my Notice of Readiness to the embassy on Tuesday 6th March and my interview is scheduled 10th April. I feel that’s a very long wait compared to what I’ve been reading from you guys!

If I’ve to wait another 2 weeks for my passport we’re looking at not having my POE for 7 weeks !!

Did this happen to anyone else ?

Any tips on on getting an interview sooner ?

My embassy is Dublin, Ireland

Thanks you 😊

Hi!

If you look at my timeline, you'll see that I received packet 3 from my consulate on Feb 7th. I sent back the response (including request for interview) the next day.

My interview was originally scheduled for March 27th, but an earlier interview slot opened up, so I had my interview yesterday.

Compared to some other people here, yesterday's interview date was already late/long, let alone if it would have been the 27th.

Like @George & Roth said: it differs per embassy.

I assume you scheduled your interview online? If so, just keep checking to see if an earlier slot opens up.
