Atti didn’t get the visa, He was missing 3 documents the consul said. Police certificate needed to be a particular one specifically for immigrants , which I had told him to get cause I had read that on VJ forum and he still got the the wrong one. Same thing for military record.  We also need to apply for a I-601 and an I-212 each $930. (I just checked processing times for those forms on uscis and it says 13-18 months) even though consul told Atti it would take like 3 months. 🤷‍♀️

I’m just depleted right now!

Hello Kari and Atti,

Can you help me what kind of police certificate you used in Budapest? I tried to request online. I got two already but it is regular...Consulate said, I need to request to " USA Bevandorlo Vizumhoz"...

Thank you so much.

I'm sorry to say but that couple hasn't signed on since May. Might I suggest you try posting in the sub-forum for your region found here: https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/95-europe-amp-eurasia-except-the-uk-and-russia/

I will get back to you tomorrow once I ask him which one he got. But this other person who has been communicating with me shared this, maybe it’s helpful to you: “Hi, just to douple check. Did you get the Erkolcsi bizonzitvany online? Because i got it there and the option for it was "usa vizumhoz" (for usa visa) But on the paper i got there is a more detailed description. I just wanna know if its the same one.
Also we are getting close, i have all the papers and just sent the mail to get the interview appointment.”

Whoa. This is fantastic. Thanks for giving @spoler a helping hand. I need to try that new feature where some one here on VJ ask a question of you when  your not here for 6 months and the Bat-phone rings and it's some one in need. Thanks for helping.

Thank you for your answer and help. I request the Erkolcsi Bizonyitvany online because I live here. It is only way for me. I have to travel back to interview to the Consulate when I will get the interview date. I applied for I601A.

Ohhh! We did that too but after the interview. Based on what I understand you cannot file for an I601 or an I 212 unless the consul approves you to do so after your interview. This is what I know based on the extensive research I did for this.

Did Atti apply for I601A? His waiver did not approve!? Why? I am sorry. I heard the  I601 is very long processing. Is he still wait in Hungary?

In in a nutshell this is what happened and what is happening to us: We were approved 2 after a long wait and and RFE but when Atti has his interview consul denied visa due to overstay of 12 days 25 years ago. Consul said he can apply for pardon I60a and I212 about $900 plus a piece, and he told Atti it will take like 3 more months to get that approved, which By now I feel is not likely (we filed  in June for that) based on processing timeline for USCI it’s about a 13-18 months wait for that. So we are patiently waiting. That’s all we can do. We have worked so hard on this so we might as well just patiently wait. We didn’t get an attorney because it is the time that it takes and filing for those two things was very expensive too. My understanding is that you cannot file for this unless consul at interview tells you you qualify for pardon. I found this on uscis website. I can pass on the info to you tomorrow as well.

Yeah, we have been waiting for so long and quite a bit discouraged.  I have been extremely busy at work and I figure I take a break and take it one day at time. I tried hard to be optimistic and go with the illusion that it would only be three months more and it has not been such. Deep in my heart based on the research done I knew it would be the time frame given on uscis processing timeline but I still had hope. I still do but not for the near future. I can’t belive it has been six months since his consul visits that shows you time passes by quickly or at least that what I try to tell myself to mAke this a bit easier to swallow. Lol

No News about AOS, filed April 6 2018 and been "ready for interview" for a while.  Unlike the i-129f I have no intentions to write the President about this one.  💋

Hi community! We got our 'Initial Request for Evidence' 4 months after filing for AOS, EAD and AP. Apparently we missed a tax document..We now sent the latest tax info for 2017 AND 2016. We included every page (20 pages per year) so should be ok now..

2 questions:

  • Will a RFE that was meant for my AOS affect when I'll receive my EAD?
  • If so, does anyone have an idea how long it will approx. take for them to send me my EAD from this moment on? I read on some forums that this will 'restart' the clock! Other forums says it will pick up where it left off.

Let me know.. Thanks. Fleur
