We got an RFE with no update pre or post. Only when we called after returning the RFE to ask if they had it by the deadline did the app suddenly update to RFE received  or something similar and even now it still says that even though we got NOA2. 

 

I called NVC the other day and she was THE rudest person and was like ‘what updates were you expecting?’ And I was like, well for the money we’ve paid ANY freaking updates would be good. After 6 calls, I managed to confirm NVC had booked in the paperwork that day and thats when they said it takes 6-8 weeks for them to process and send to the embassy. They had an expedite email address if I had a reason to expedite such as medical but realistically I have no valid reason to expedite other than its taken AGES and I want to plan the wedding and help guests out to plan their travels.

Sounds like you are in your way now with the process so that’s great! All the calls and inquiries I have made so far have been useless. I submitted an inquiry to the Ombudsman in February and as of Friday they still haven’t assigned it to anyone. Just hoping we hear something by the one year mark!

It is important to keep the eye on the prize.  The journey $uks but the end is worth it.  Whatever it takes!

I have booked my visa interview for the 8th June at the US embassy in London, but my deadline is the 4th of June is this going to be an issue do I need to contact the embassy?

Paul will be here almost this time tomorrow!!!! I have been absolutely WORTHLESS at work so far this week.

I have all his favorite American snacks/drinks/etc. waiting for him at the house and big WELCOME HOME balloon letters I'm going to attempt to inflate tonight and will probably fail at, but at least I tried.

 

The next 24 hours are going to feel like a giant blur when it's all said and done - his first flight from Gothenburg is at 7am there, which is 1am here.. I'm usually in bed by 9pm (I get up at 5 for work), so I'm going to TRY and nap after work today, so I can be up when he leaves. We'll see how that works out... lol. It's so surreal to think when I wake up tomorrow, I'll be coming home at the end of the day with my other half. But as anxious as I am, I'm trying to enjoy this feeling and the anticipation of it. This is what the last year and a half have been all about, and now I know what people mean when they say it's all worth it in the end. AHHH I just needed somewhere to voice my nerves because I feel like I may explode at work today.

 

Also - whatever happened to @vocaledge? He crossed my mind today; Paul actually asked about him. He did such a good job of helping keep so many of us sane last year/early this year. Just realized that he hasn't been around lately

I just got off the long Administrative Processing and begun seeing progress in my case, but today I got sucked back in to Administrative Processing black hole. I don't get it.

 

Administrative Processing - 221 g since April 24 then May 9 I saw a positive change. Application changed from Immigrant to Non-Immigrant - I read many times here before that that's a good sign. Tracker advised to check again after two business days, so I have been checking everyday for the last 6 days. When I checked again just before noon today, my status was changed back to the dreadful Administrative Processing (??) Not sure what's going on. Tracker says" processing can take several weeks, or longer."  I know that's a general blurb but it's so disappointing to see that when I thought I only had to wait "2 business days" and now I feel like I am back in to the eternal black hole again.  Has anyone seem this happen to their case, or someone else's case?  I am trying to stay positive but I am really confused right now ...

If it's "non immigrant" AP this time then that's a positive sign that the visa will be issued soon, seems like typically less than a week to turn to issued. Mine was only on NI AP for less than 2 hours, but every embassy processes at different speeds.
