Administrative Processing.  Everyone goes through that.  It can be a day to years depending on the petition.  It is just the final step before issuing (or denying) the visa.

That’s just crazy.. i read somewhere they have 60 days to reply to the rfe. I hope that’s the case and you hear soon.

Just a quick update. Bulent had his interview in Ankara today and was approved in ~30 minutes, including 15 minutes when there was a drill (I hope) where the embassy employees went under their desks. 262 days to NOA2, 324 days to interview approval. 

 

We’ll post a full review with the questions he was asked on the embassy page a bit later.

I didn’t send in all pages from my passport, that’s no longer required. 

 

I did also also send my birth certificate and some other things though.

Call NVC 2 weeks after your NOA2 approval date. It took us 16 days to get the NVC case# or MCN. Your fiance can call them too. The process goes pretty quick after NOA2, for PH beneficiaries.

Haven't checked in around here in a long time... Haven't actually been on the site for several days. I have so much to catch up on!

 

Just some little updates on us...

 

Paul will be home this time in 2 weeks!! Staying behind for a couple months after I left Sweden in March was definitely a great decision, because he has been spending so much time reconnecting with people and establishing connections to make sure he stays in touch once he leaves. He's been enjoying time with his family and preparing everyone for the transition. I think he's one of the most amazing people that ever existed. I'm sure anyone could say that about their partner and love of their life, but he has just handled this so well (way better than me, and I'm the one who gets to stay put!). He's just been so calm and patient and thinking of how our moves will effect those who are close to him. I love it.

 

Meanwhile... I've been trying to enjoy my last bit of time as a solo occupant. Never lived with anyone before, so I'm trying to think of all the ways I can to make him feel at home right away and make the transition as easy for him as possible. Headed to my dad's this weekend for one last trip up there as just me by myself/before I'm married. I'm the baby and my dad's been emotional lately realizing how much everything is about to change. It's all joyful, don't get me wrong, but I know it's a change for everyone, not just Paul and I. Some of that's really coming to fruition now that we're so close. But it's still all been beautiful support from our close loved ones.

 

Paul has his outfit together for our courthouse wedding and his vest for the traditional wedding - I still have to find something to wear to the courthouse. BUT. I got my wedding dress this weekend for the traditional wedding in the fall!! I cried... my mom cried... my sister cried... my baby niece cried....  It was a wonderful experience that I'm so glad I was able to have. First time I've felt like a "normal bride", actually.

 

I hope everyone is doing well!! @Lotts prayers and good vibes that your POE went well, if you've had it already!! Your post about the ride to the airport made me tear up. Paul talks about the day he leaves and what he figures it'll be like, and it makes me cry every time I think about it. I have to remind myself that while that day will be an amazing day for me that won't get here fast enough... it's also going to be a bit of a sad day for him, and a day that will come too quickly for his family.

 

@John & Rose  I hope the planning has been going well for your tribe! I saw a post mentioning July POE...? Did I read that correctly? That will be here before you know it! I can hardly believe it's May already.

I sent in my short form (I don't have a long form birth certificate) but the RFE was to prove my citizenship and the passport was listed as an option. I hope this doesn't mean I have even longer to wait.

Nope.  Our visa was refused so I will marry Rose there and do a CR-1.  I screwed up by not thoughroughly reading and understanding a question.  It was my fault so now I am working on fixing it.  Rose and I are planning on getting married in late June or early July then we will file the CR-1.

I don't think so. From the instructions it doesn't require both, it just says it "may" include. 

 

You should be OK

I have a question about ssn.. from what I've read on here it sounds like people are applying for it after they enter the u.s but from what I've read online it says I can't apply for one until I apply for AOS and have a work permit. Can I do it now?

Yes you can do it now Rakhel got her's within two weeks of POE.
