So I saw some October November and December i130 being approved hopefully they go by fast

Yep. Mostly October cases for now cause it’s only individual cases being approved in Nov, Dec and even Jan for now.

I was hoping they would be like touching more November cases by now but still not yet.. hoping they will move faster too!

I wonder what are the factors that some individual cases move faster.

Hard to say, some of them don’t even know themselves. For now, I think it might just be pure luck. 😂😅 cause they haven’t shared anything different for now. The only ones I know of is one or two cases got a slightly earlier approval due to concurrently doing K3 but that is sometimes a hit or miss cause there also have been cases of people getting delayed for a concurrent K3.

The only ones who know for sure would be USCIS. :P

If you see the list of people recently getting approved in the forums majority are currently in sept/ oct 2017 filers. Only one or two cases in nov, dec and jan each was approved. - that was what I meant by individual. The cases were more like outliers and don’t represent the current progress.

After looking at the noa2 dates, I feel like people whose priority date is at the beginning of each months gets approved quicker than those who have priority dates towards the end of the months... :/

Well, it depends on how USCIS distribute case files I guess.. Some things are out of our control ;p and we will never find out the reason unless someone in USCIS explains how they work 😂

i don’t think they would purposely be taking longer for later priority dates though at least not on purpose... the only reason I can think of is maybe they will be dealing with any RFE from earlier cases in the month while processing the later ones (purely my own conjecture).

Hello everyone!

This waiting process is killing me :( So I’m planning to visit hubby in two weeks and wanted to ask you all if anyone else has traveled to the US yet? I’m coming from Toronto, Canada. I plan to have my return ticket ready. I’m not employed cause I am a student and will be finished with university in about a week. I was planning on bringing proof of my graduation date to show that I intend on returning for my convocation ceremony. I will be staying the US for a little over a month. When the officer asks me who I’m visiting, if I say “family” is that considered a lie? Or should I just say “my husband”? Because based on previous travels, when I’ve said “family” they’ve never inquired further and my husband is my family. What do you guys think?

Since you do have previous travel records, I think you should be fine with your current plan. It’s not a lie as long as you tell the truth if they inquire further. <- can’t guarantee anything though cause... it’s always the officer at the border that decides.

Honestly I wouldn’t put too much thought into it. I live in Toronto and cross into America nearly every week with my husband and they don’t say anything. Just carry something that shows you still have ties to Canada, recurring bills, rental agreement etc.

Also, carry your priority date confirmation letter to show US immigration that you are following the legal path. As you said,  mention you’re visiting / stopping with family and it’s a vacation.

Just answer the questions they ask honestly and you’ll be perfectly fine. Also, only present evidence if they ask for it, most officers will take your answers in good faith and not ask for any paperwork, it’s more so on the off chance. You’ll probably get asked about  how you plan to fund yourself whilst in America, and do you plan to work during your visit. Pretty routine questions.

Good luck!

Yes just who then what you have also tell them you going to see your husband, if you say family they will mean and ask that question again just to see if you will really come out and say Husband. Your case notions will be in the computer so you might as well tell Jen your husband one time and get over it then to have them asking you more questions.Show them your case confirmation.

Does anyone know why USCIS give different priority dates for USC's and PR's on their website?

Throws me so much. I think someone said it doesn't really make a difference, but it still confuses me.

Also nearly 2 months into the waiting process, last month went fast. :P

I would assume that sometime in the past it might use to have very different processing times? But either one slowed down or the other became faster 😂 that it’s both usually really similar right now for most service centre.

Except I think CSC might still have a significant difference <- didn’t check current status but like months ago it was very different.

I think USCIS should be starting to touch November files now because I’ve read of at least 3-4 approvals from November in the forums! :D so it’s getting closer to us, slowly but surely!

Fingers crossed it goes fast for us, especially at Texas! I'm kinda hoping around the 6 month mark which would land around September 9th, but anything in August would be pretty awesome!

Then I think I'm going to try get it expedited through NVC to speed up the process a little :P
