We received our NOA1 in the mail yesterday, priority date is 12 March. What exactly does the priority date mean? And where can I find the information for the NVC documents needed? Might as well start getting it all together!

Priority date is only something that affects petitioner that are spouse of LPR instead of USC. Because they will have to wait for a visa to be available before being able to proceed with NVC stage after having their USCIS petition approved. (Only limited amount of family visa available every year for LPR)

info on NVC

@Michelle609

maybe they were updating earlier? I have no problems with it.

Nebraska service center has all at 14 May though.

Hello to everyone out there! :)  It was a painful wait but finally got a receipt after submitting our I-130.. We were starting to get worried since it had been so long from the date we sent it in, to getting a I-797 receipt. We are a bit unclear what our actually NOA1 date really is......

3/14 - I-130 Sent

4/5  - USCIS Acceptance Confirmation email

4/9  - Form I-797 received in mail

On the I-797 it states:

March 19, 2018 - Received Date

March 19, 2018 - Priority Date

April 04th, 2018 - Notice Date

What is the actual NOA1 date we should go by? Why could it have taken longer than what most other experience to get receipt? We are certainly worried and do not want to encounter any delays.
