I will look into getting a co-sponsor. I did look up "citados en consulado de juarez” and omg lots of good info. thanks a bunch for the info

There’s three different groups with similar names.. I joined all three and it’s like a jackpot.. all types of good info there! And you can always ask any question you have, everyone’s very helpful! Best wishes.

Just wanted to let you guys know that my wife just went to her second interview and we were Approved.  We did it! It was a long journey but it's almost done. Thanks to everyone for your support and advice, I appreciate so much. For anyone whose petition gets sent to Nebraska, hang in there.  Once your petition gets approved, everything moves rather quickly so just hang in there.

Interview: July 18, 2019 (expedite)

Please help...

Hi to all. My husband's interview is coming up on July 18, 2019 in Juarez. When I uploaded the Affidavit of Support info to NVC,  I used my father as a houshold member so that we could combine our incomes together to reach the income guideline amount. I live with my dad.

But, with everything going on and people getting denials at their interviews for public charge (age, social security benefit income), I am thinking of just getting a joint sponsor instead, my brother. He doesnt live with us. He's single, 34 years old no dependants and makes well over the amount required. He has provided me with his taxes for past 3 years, all transcripts. Do you think that I can just use him and just have my husband take his I-864 packet and evidence instead of what I had uploaded to NVC

I thank you for your help and advice.....🙏

Interview was on 7/18/2019. My husband was APPROVED!!! 👏😍

You will need a sponsor. The good thing is that you do work cause they have been denying a lot of people due to public charge.

And some of those cases is because the petitioner does not work. They want to see that the petitioner works.

I have a question for the group!!

I am done with my immigration process.

My husband is here in the US and I was wondering:

1. For anyone in my situation, how long did it take for your spouse to get their green card in the mail (my husband has been here for 3 weeks)

2. Do we have to register our marriages somehow for that they are recorded just like a US marriage would be? Or do we have to go get a marriage license and remarry here?

3. How long did it take to get your spouses social security numbers?. I did mark the box for one on the visa application.

4. Is there any ph# we can Call to check To see if Ss# was issued or green card has been mailed out?

Thank you guys in advance for your help!!

You do not need to remarry. Go to you local SSA office and apply for a SSN  I waited in omaha for 2 weeks after I arrived. After I visited SSA, I got it in the mail within a 8 days. I got the green card in 2 months which was 2 weeks ago.

Took 6 weeks for us. We also had to go to SSN office to get the SSN card!

I called my town hall and we did not have to register our marriage anywhere! Just have extra copies of the certificate from abroad for insurance etc.

I called USCIS and they told me when my GC was issued.
