I think you need to make sure that the certified birth certificate for Italy from 2011 hasn't changed in terms of design/format/structure compared to currently issued Italian birth certificates. For instance, for Ghana the birth certificate design changed in 2016 or so, and since then USCIS and US Embassy don't accept any certificates issued prior to 2016. It might not be the case for Italy birth certificates but err on the side of caution because NVC/USE can be really picky and pesky about things.

We sent them an email and the italian birth certificate that I have is not acceptable 😪 I most send a more recent one. Im afraid I am going  to take too long to get it. Do you know how much time we have to re-send everything?

So they said they need your Italian birth certificate and on top of that they need the current format of the certificate? Correct?

You have a lot of time, in fact up to 1 year :). But of course, do your best to re-send everything on time.

One Year Contact Requirement

"Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) section 203(g) provides that the Secretary of State shall terminate the registration (petition) of any alien who fails to apply for an immigrant visa within one year of notice of visa availability. The petition may be reinstated if, within two years of notice of visa availability, the alien establishes that the failure to apply was for reasons beyond the alien’s control. Therefore if you do not respond to notices from the NVC within one year you risk termination of your petition under this section of law and would lose the benefits of that petition, such as your priority date."

Has anyone also been having trouble connecting the NVC, via phone? Every and I mean EVERY time I call they say the lines are busy and to call back later. Well I have been and they still don't let me through.

Oh, I have called NVC many times this week because I was having login issues. The trick is to continuously hit redial until you get connected, and then be willing to wait 30+ minutes after that. So call them and go ahead a hit the redial button nonstop.

Oh thanks. I'll try that out now. :)

I submitted all NVC applications and documents today. Fingers crossed and hope to GOD I did everything right I want Hubby to have an interview next month 🤞🏾😫🙏🏾

The only thing is for pur civil documents I think I labeled my birth certificate as "birth certificate" from the drop down list instead of "petitioners borth certificate" hope they dont make me redo it.

Anyone been made to resubmit for things like that?

ALSO how are we informed if case is completed? Will we get email or have to check the Ceac website periodically?

Yes! I sent  them an email with a copy  of my italian birth certificate from 2011 and they said: “please replace this with an acceptable birth certificate”. I think they meant to send a more recent one, we are not very sure because they didnt give us a detailed explanation of what we asked them in the form. We’ve been trying to call them but it has been impossible 😥

We checked the website periodically and we actually had a message on our CEAC saying we were documentarily qualified exactly 14 days after sending the last document. We didn't get the email until the next morning, so at 15 days. We had one document rejected because one of the stamps on the back page was sideways. Good luck.

How long after did you have your interview date?

One of my stamps is crooked too but you kinda cant help that because the people at the offices are the ones stamping it. Did you have to get completely new foreign document with a new stamp?

I re-scanned, but I tore off the stamp and put it on a separate page and made sure it was straight up. It was accepted 2 weeks later. I also thought we couldn't alter the documents, but apparently they want us to. I didn't get a new document. Also, I still don't have an interview date. -__-   It's been exactly two weeks. Hopefully, soon though!
