How many days did it take for NVC to accept our documents ?

Hi.

It took exactly 2 weeks to hear back from them.  I had to re scan  2 documents and resubmit them.  I waited another 2 weeks after that. And it took only 6 days for them to schedule our interview.

Hope that will be helpful. good luck!

OHHHH like the 2x2 and passport photo page? I understand now. I thought she was referring to like photos of travel or secondary evidence!

I actually was referring to secondary evidence... but I don't think it'll fit into the size limit so might not do it.

Yeah, will also suggest you should just carry the secondary pictures to the interview. And upload only passport pictures.

Hi guys,

has anyone uploaded pictures to NVC, if yes, how and in what format?

Yes. I just scanned my passport photo and saved as pdf then uploaded the pdf.

Remember all documents you upload must be less than 2mb in size.

Why would we need to submit photos to NVC? just hoping Im not missing anything!?

Two Passport photos were required in my civil documents to be uploaded. It might be the same for others.

I'm uploading my brother (household members) birth certificate and my birth certificate to NVC as proof of relationship....should i send my husband the original birth certificate to bring to the interview ?? I'm confused because those are my legal documents and what if I need them for something else..

I believe you don't need to send your husband your original birth certificate; a photocopy or scanned copy should be ok. There are occasions where if you were petitioning a child or a parent then they would have needed your original birth certificate because that is needed to establish relationship. A birth certificate doesn't prove a relationship with your husband.

Does the Police Certificate (background check) from the country where we are having the interview (in our case Brazil), does it needs to be translated in English? Apostille required?

My husband's Brazilian Police Certificate is in Portuguese and I read somewhere that since the interview is in Brazil and the document is in the native language of Brazil (Portuguese) all documents in Portuguese don't need to be translated for interviews in Rio de Janeiro. Just want to make sure is true.  Apostille required?

We are ready to submit the background checks (police certificate) in the NVC (CEAC) website. Does the Police Certificate (background check) from the country where we are having the interview (in our case Brazil), does it needs to be translated in English? Apostille required?

I scanned all my documents including pictures and all scanned documents saved as pdf.

I submitted all documents including picture in PDF. I have CC and interview booked.

You should be ok.

Just be sure it’s not over 2mb in size.
