Hi Guys, I have already submitted my i130. I wanted to check if submitting Birth Certificate was a necessity?

My wife has become a US citizen through naturalization and we have submitted the naturalization certificate (and the passport photocopy) .  I can see the "birth certificate" being asked on the i130 instruction pdf,  but its more of a proof if someone is born in US + additionally there are other proofs for eg. passport, naturalization certificate etc.. What do you guys think?

Again it mentions "A copy of your birth certificate, issued by a civil registrar, vital statistics office, or other civil authority showing that you were born in the United States"

My  I-130 package was delivered today to the USCIS lockbox in Chicago!

Just waiting on my NOA1 now! It should take 7-10 days right?

Got text/email notification from Chicago lockbox in 10 days, NOA1 in 14 days

Good Luck!

They said wait for notice and more detailed instructions in the mail.

💫 I- am - so - happy 🙏🏾

So , does this mean we don’t need to send further information??

Yay! Mail came in (on a Saturday!) NOA1 received and it says my notice date/ NOA1 is 19 March while Priority date is 14 March. Though, since husband is USC priority date shouldn’t matter.

Yayy! Well done! 🙌🏾

I’m just waiting in mail and also no priority date as same as you.

@MrsB2212 don’t worry! Yours should be on the way! :) Also, lol I didn’t realize it but the wait for NOA1 is kinda the easiest wait actually. Cause now... it’s like a minimum of 7 months (or more) of wait. It’s so long that I almost feel like I should forget about it till like August or something when the wait is shorter at that time. 🤔🤣 - just crossing fingers that USCIS might magically work faster in the next 6 months? Lol.

Patience. We need lots of patience.

some things like taxes info we can start preparing but some like certificate from police and medical we can’t because these  have an expiry date... 🤷🏻‍♀️

<- spent first few days excited then realized its ... nothing for a few months and now I’m trying to remind myself ... to just chill. No point checking online like 5x a day. It’s not changing anytime soon.😂

Hello fellow March Filers! Another one here.

We got word that the application has been accepted on 18 March and has been sent to Nebraska.

Saw that its going to take up to 11.5 months... ugh.

I've seen a few others complaining about the Nebraska Service Center, is there a reason why?
