May I ask what kinda of prove you submit I really want to file for my dad too but his name is not on my birth paper I have live with him for 26 yrs but dont kno how to prove that. Any advise would help

Why they hold it for 18 more days before sending is beyond me but at least it's an indication things are happening and mine will be sent soon.

believe me i dont get it that they took almost 3 weeks since approval to send the petition to NVC..

Hey @Shanshanjamrock. I advised getting your birth record be updated first to reflect your dad's name.  

 

Some proof to establish father and daughter relationship; phonew conversations between you two over the years, while living together , photos together. If u ever gone back to visit him(copy of ur itinerary) or stamps from your passport. Post cards.   If u r married marriage certificate usually bears the father's name of both bride and groom once know.  That's just a few

To prove your relation to your dad

Birth certificate

Receipt of bank

3 witness affidavit of mother uncle and relative

Hospital record 

Pictures with your dad

School record

Vaccine card 

Property 

If you dont have evidence then do DNA is the best proof of relation

I was talking to the DNA office about it they suggest I wait until its request from uscis before I do it becuz if I do it before to send in as prove they might ask for another one, I really don't have much prove becuz back in those days my dad just work and mom take care of us I live with my dad for 26 yrs he and mom is still together even thou they are married, just happen that his name his not on my birth paper and he is  the one that file for it when i was a baby, so messy and confess,

Called NVC yesterday and they told me my case was recieved on November 28, but to give them 8 weeks to get a case number. FYI
