Approval:  November 2018

CCMarch 13, 2019

Interview: July 18, 2019 (expedite)

Please help...

Hi to all. My husband's interview is coming up on July 18, 2019 in Juarez. When I uploaded the Affidavit of Support info to NVC,  I used my father as a houshold member so that we could combine our incomes together to reach the income guideline amount. I live with my dad.

But, with everything going on and people getting denials at their interviews for public charge (age, social security benefit income), I am thinking of just getting a joint sponsor instead, my brother. He doesnt live with us. He's single, 34 years old no dependants and makes well over the amount required. He has provided me with his taxes for past 3 years, all transcripts. Do you think that I can just use him and just have my husband take his I-864 packet and evidence instead of what I had uploaded to NVC

I thank you for your help and advice.....🙏

Greetings everyone,

my case has moved to case complete on April 23, 2019 for IR1 (Ciudad Juarez) priority date 11-22-2016. Question I Filed the affidavit of support being the sponsor for my husband the poverty guideline shows:

Household of  4 = 32,187

and i barley made it, i made 32,200 for TY2018

concerned if there will be any problems, like being denied (public charges) since i barley made enough??

The consular officer will make a determination based on the totality of your circumstance. I'll recommend you start looking for a joint sponsor just in case. Good luck.

First of all congrats on your case thats moving along, as for me Im still stuck on the first step, which is waiting for my I-130 approval which I submitted on March 20, 2018. But question, if my husband was making good money when he was here, which is way over the poverty guideline, but now since he has been deported, well that count towards our case since I alone make about less or about the poverty guideline. I do have our taxes when we filed when he was here. Please any advice, thank you!

I highly recommend looking for a cosponsor. Not sure if you know but there is a group on Facebook called “citados en consulado de juarez”.. many people have posted their experiences on there and have been considered public charge if income is too close to guidelines
