18 and 34 months??? Omg that's crazy!!!! Now I'm nervous that a letter is all I have got to hold on to till I hear from them...

So if I travel to Canada (home) in July and then Scotland in September, am I good to reenter with the letter or should I get the stamp before leaving. My letter is supposedly valid till 2019.

My god how backed up are they! Thank you guys. I was starting to panic...

You have plenty of time to travel without worry.  Hopefully by 2019 all this will be a wash!  Seems to be the story with USCIS.  Nothing we can do about it. If you haven't heard anything upon your return from Scotland, you should be looking into things to see about getting the I-551 stamp in your passport.

My spouse is from a 'Developing country'....and we have no problems with the letter and the Green Card together with his passport. However, we are due to travel in November this year abroad..so probably mid-July we have to schedule an Infopass appointment. I was told that NYC is so backed up, that CT or NJ might be better to get the stamp.

I'm in NYC too and while I am annoyed, I am not surprised they are backed up. I have until November/December to get my I-551 stamp, but I'm already stressing about it.

Our case is in 25 months now still married and living happily together.Filed on Feb 16,2016 and went to interview with my wife on October 12,2017. Got approved but still no new card in the mail.Book info-pass appointment and i was told that,my case is pending .First one customer service man want to tell us that, they mailed to us RFE and they are waiting for that respond. Yes we got RFE in january 2017 and we replied to them with the Evidence in Feb 14,2017.He then argue with us that, yes we didnt responded to the RFE and we asked that,if we did not responded to the RFE,why did we have interview notice? Still no answer and we requested to talk to someone in the management. A nice African American Supervisor came out and we asked her what is really going on and if they need any documents from us and the answer she gave was nooo.We asked her again that why that we were told in our interview that,we were approved but as at now, noooooo even approval letter from uscis to us in the mail that we were approved and the answer was completely SILENCE!! When my wife told her that, somethings is not right and that we gonna contact ombudsman office to request for a case assistance. Few minutes after we left the office, the office called us 2 times and apologize for the delay and that we will receive a letter in the mail soon. I believe that, files are just sitting in people office unattended and that is sad..Monday will be 1 week after we visited the office and im waiting to get that letter in the mail soon. Good Luck to everyone. This is very stressful
