More laws, that’s what is needed.  Sheesh, we should have outlawed drugs, rape, and killing people many years ago, and we wouldn’t have all these problems!

He said more studies. From that, will be an approach to policy. Mark my words here. The absolute pig headed stubborn approach of the NRA in lobbying against any possible change that would result in one less person owning a gun has made it difficult to even have a political conversation about policy change. That same pig headedness is going to be the impetus for the backlash that is to come.

Backlash?  How so? I have seen more gun sales thus far.  Go to your local gun store and ask how many they have sold in the last 10 days.  I did this just the other day at Academy Sports.   They only had a handful on the rack, mostly the really expensive brands.

The wrong steps are being sought because the people who think guns are the problem don’t want to face the real issues. I’m actually hoping they do ban guns for a while.  That is the only way some people who have no clue will begin to see the light.

As we discussed previously, change doesn't happen over night. I'm pretty sure the majority of people buying guns in the last week are not new to buying guns. All these kids you see protesting will be adults one day. Politicians may be ignoring them today, but not so much when they start getting involved in who gets elected.

As opposed to the pig headed approach by the left attempting to ban everything short of muzzle loaders. When you take that approach you should expect a backlash from the opposition.

When you have this type of rhetoric coming from the left combined with a proposed ban of all semi autos do you expect anyone who respects the second amendment and the constitution as a whole to lay down and just accept it?

They just need to label it "military style" and people will flock to ban it.  I am always amazed at how the MDL got away with labeling many guns "assault weapons".  Isn't any weapon used to assault someone an assault weapon?

Gotta love how the left denies they want to ban all guns while at the same time making statements like that and pushing legislation that would allow us to have little more than a muzzle loader

Remind me which ubiquitous anti gun lobby has their hand in the pockets influencing every policy maker in congress. I don't want to have to accuse you of false equivalence every time you post, so just fill me in on that part and we can go from there.

I wonder how close a $3 million operating budget comes to the $350 million the NRA takes in annually. I asked for an example of a lobby that influences every policy maker. The Brady campaign may be the closest thing we can come up with to an anti-NRA, but no way do they have the same level of influence. No one does.

The actual review seems to indicate that for most outcomes the evidence is INCONCLUSIVE

that isn't the same thing as "it doesn't work". Many of the policies and outcome combos had only 1 or 2 studies. Even with two studies showing a positive outcome, the evidence would still likely be inconclusive.

Not really sure the Dems really want to solve anything regarding school shootings, or gun control.  It seems they would rather keep the issue alive as a political tool for the 2018 election.

first, where is the proof that the nra influences every policy maker?

and then - how would we know if they don't influence as many policy makers as the nra?

What exactly are Republicans suggesting to solve the shooting problem?
