I have been researching the web and cannot find an answer to this. I am removing conditions, my fist GC has my maiden name on it, I want to use my married name for the next one. Can I legally use my maiden name as my middle name. I do not have a middle name.

Thank you

No - I applied for Green Card before I got married - when I got married - I didn't want to lose my maiden name so I added it to my middle name.  And submit the change to DHS.  All is good UNTIL I went in for my interivew - the lady said I can't do that. In order to add it to my middle name, I have to go to the court to do name change and they were going to postpone my US citizenship because of this.  I told her No, I don't want it.  I thought I have added it to my middle name but in reality, it stayed in my surname but I added my married last name to it.  She was very clear about it and I was fooled because I was able to do that with driver's license place, Social Security etc.

So if you want to add your maiden to your middle name, go to the court and have it added.
