Hi all! Received our NOA2 on 3/21 and the packet has been received and is ready at the US Embassy in Beirut. I am just a little confused how to go along with everything else. I need to file DS-160? Pay the fee and not too sure what else. If anyone could offer advice on what to do that would be great! Also I don't make an income because im a student in college, and still live at home. Can my parents be on the I134?

thank you!

Hello, guys !

Its been three weeks since we got ''Ready'' on our application at NVC.I did DS-160 when our case was sitting at ''At NVC''.

I hope I did not made a mistake by submitting DS-160 so early.

So, fiancee got an email from NVC, dated 04/05, that they sent our case to the Belgrade embassy ( our embassy ).

It's been over three weeks since our case is ''Ready'' and over a week since they sent it to Belgrade, according to email.I  did not get any news from anyone and I am not that much worried if they really did sent it out on 04/05, but I do not know why was I informed that the case is ''Ready'' three weeks ago if it isn't or I just misunderstood what ''Ready'' at NVC means.

Anybody had experience with this ? I hope that me submitting ds-160 before while the case was 'At NVC'' will not harm the process.I paid no fees since I've read that there aren't any until you get to the interview.

Who should I trust in this case ? Email NVC sent me that they sent the case to Belgrade on April 5th, or the same NVC that said that our case passed phases ''at nvc'', ''in transit'' and is sitting at ''Ready'' for three weeks.

Did I made a mistake in the process ?

Thank you !

If you have no income, you NEED a sponsor. Yes, your parents can sponsor you. You have to make sure that they make enough income to support all the dependents plus your fiance.

Follow the following: What to do after NOA2 Approval? How to contact NVCClick here for info - https://goo.gl/KggThF
Once you get your case number, it is all embassy specific. You can submit your DS-160 once your case is "Ready" but all else (Interviews, Medical, where and how to get police report) depends. Some embassies (like Canada) have strict protocols and do everything for you. Some (like mine Nigeria), you do everything yourself. So find your embassy forum here on VJ and ask what the process is like.

Good luck!

NVC sent me an e-mail 3 weeks after my case was at embassy and like 2 days before my interview and I didn't have a problem.
It's fine. Doesn't mean anything. NVC is understandably backlogged on when they communicate with us.

In regards to communication, 3 weeks and no action either means YOU are supposed to do everything yourself or your embassy is backlogged and haven't gotten to your case.  I will suggest you contact your embassy and ask what is next.

I called me three times before and was not able to get anyone and I decided to call now and voila, I got a person.

Even tho he was not that pleasant, he told me that they did not receive it yet, since I would be informed by letter.

It looks like NVC sent it out on April 5th, which is still considered normal time, and not March 22nd, which would be out of time.

I just think they messed up my application when I go and check confirmation number as it says that my case sits ''Ready'' since March 22nd, and then 2 weeks later, fiancee gets mail that it was sent out on April 5th.

Who knows, maybe ''Ready'' means something else...

Thank you for answering !

Ready always means the embassy has it.
The issue here could be how long your embassy takes to actually get the cases in their database ready for applicants to move on.
And I see you're Montenegro- that's not a popular embassy I think and that can also contribute to things.

I don't think anything is wrong with your case. The letter is a formality. So I wouldn't stress on that either. Just check in with your embassy a few times a week and am sure by next week, it will all be sorted out :D

The pages time out fast, I know it's annoying but just make sure you keep saving every page as you go.

Hello fellow Canadian!

My NOA2 date was Feb 23rd. The file reached Montreal on March 20th, and I haven't heard from the Consulate yet. It's been 2.5 weeks and no word yet!

Has the embassy sent you Packet 3 yet?
