No, but I just called and got my number. The lady was really nice and said they have not sent out the letter yet. She said they did send to Albania on 3/23. I guess I should have called them first lol

Hello,

I am wondering if someone could help with some questions i have regarding my case. Looks like the case is ready for interview according to the CEAC website. My questions are the following

1) Can i make an appointment right away or do i need to wait for a letter

2) throughout many forums and online instructions it says that a confirmation letter will come with the appointment date and time. we have an issue in that my fiance has moved since the time of the original application. Will we be able to update his address when we go online to schedule the interview.

3) Does the confirmation of interview date come by email as well? Will i get a copy of this interview date?

3) Similarly, will i also receive a packet of instructions just as he will from the embassy?

4) Is this the same packet of instructions that can be found online... any reason to wait for them to come in the mail?

any help or guidance appreciated. @Naes do you have any insights?

Thanks,
Caroline

Please update your timeline
It's hard to give advice when we don't know what you're referring to.

(1) it depends. Some embassies (like mine) you do everything yourself after case is ready. others like Canada, they do everything for you and you must wait for instructions before proceeding.
So I will suggest that you look up your embassy forum under VJ and follow the instructions there. You don't want to proceed and have everything be voided afterwards.

(2) Is this the beneficiary or the petitioner that has moved? if petitioner, does not really affect this stage in the game. Beneficiary, you WANT to change that whilst your case is still at the NVC. It causes you a lot of issues if beneficiary has moved (particularly if to another country) and your case has left NVC

(3) See (1) above

(4) see (1) above. If your embassy delivers everything to you, it will either be via e-mail or snail mail. Very few embassies do snail mail tho. And for some, yes, the same packet being e-mailed is the same as one found online.

I was okay until Christmas just gone, where I couldn’t help but cry on my mums shoulder. It’s going to be hard and you will get home sick but so long as your fiancé is there for you and supporting you, and you are dealing with your emotions in a healthy manner, you’ll be okay. My mum has already booked a flight to visit me in January 2019. Heck, I haven’t even been approved yet. Knowing my luck, she will be out there before me.

Yeah! It’s getting so real & like I said I definitely am ready but it scares me so much at the same time haha. I’ve never left home before this and moving 3300 miles away from home will be so rough.

LOL

Don't worry. That's quite common. The standard they say is typically 45 days, so your 30-90 days number is right around there.

We read from a former adjudicator that reviewing a case is like 15 mins but these days at USCIS, we can't tell what's going on down there
Case being assigned means most likely your background checks have cleared which is good. But we don't know how many other cases are sitting by your adjudicators desk so we can never say for certain when your 15 mins starts. LOL
Fingers crossed you hear something by week end!! Hang on. Approval is coming soon no matter what
