congrats to the peeps just joining the noa2 bunch, long haul but you got approved!!!!!!!!!!

Now the next wait wont be as long as the noa2 , from approval to nvc case number is 2 to 8 weeks , January it was taking two months to get a case number, February it was taking 2 weeks or less (several within 10 days!) however.....as of beginning of march they now say 6-8 weeks when you call them.

Wait 2 weeks from the time the NOA2 is in your hands from the mail, then call every day to find out if they received your file. Then two days after that is a case number, then most of the time its 10 days from that date to nvc sending the petition to the embassy.

USCIC sends petitions by regular mail to the NVC every two weeks...so keep that in mind.

Passport photos for the embassy,  I heard white background and read off white background? which is it? I may just tell her bring 5 of each (white and off white) in case they ask.

Either white or off white is ok.  On the USCIS Passport photo requirements page they state:  "Use a plain white or off-white background"

https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/requirements/photos.html

This is the same requirements that will be used with the DS-160 and by the Embassy.

Sad it's not an approval.

RFE....But super easy.

They only want 1 photo of each of us.

Crazy... i sent 2 of each with petition.

Either way... is what it is. :)

Is it possible for Marian to send to me digitally?

Anyone done this before?

If its possible,I could have them there on Monday.

Whewww! That will be an easy fix. Tell her to send a digital 2x2 with white background. You can run to the nearest Walmart or any photo shops to get it printed. Send it immediately, next would be approval. I am still glad even when it's an RFE. Congratulations!

Fellow Augustines!!
I have news!!

For those still waiting:
@Vholde346 @streanor @dpcalbears @Lizzard @AbSa @AndyAspen @anna lucia @Pedro0319
and anyone else I missed...

I learned today that USCIS has made updates. Everybody re-check your status!
Apparently many people today are finding out their case status's after months in suspense.

Instead of using https://egov.uscis.gov/casestatus/landing.do

can you please try to sign up an account at https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov/ and create your account. They seem to have changed where they're updating the cases. This would explain why there have been so many "silent NOA2s" in the passed few months.

Hey thank you! WE called them this afternoon and they said that our case hasnt been touched and we opened an inquiry, after that i created the account but its still showing as case received.  This is too crazy... people at work are already like "are you really going?" haha. 7 months already. Good that I could come here and stay for 3 weeks...

Thanks, @emekus94 !   I just received an email right now confirming that our petition was approved!!  Do we just wait now for NVC receipt confirmation? I'm guessing I should be contacting them to check within a few days?

Yea yea!!
CONGRATULATIONSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!

Give NVC 2 weeks (14 days)  from approval date. Then call for your case number!

Thanks for the heads up!! I made an account and checked it with my breath held but it's still 'Received'. Damnit this wait is taking it's toll...

I know. So sorry for you and all the others waiting.
It's simply ridiculous and even worse that they won't communicate what's up!

But hang in there. Many are still waiting with you

i just created a new account and the case now shows a different date then my original NOA1 does. My NOA shows a recieved date of 8/31/17 and a notice date of 9/5/17.  The myuscis status page shows a submitted date of 9/6/17 with a 9/5/17 received date.

Well what seems to matter is the received/notice date of 9/5/17. At least that's consistent. Not sure what that submitted 9/6/17 is all about. #ClassicUSCIS
Hoping you hear something soon!

thanks I hadn't used the mobile app before. This has been a long waiting process for sure. I never would have imagined going through this. i I know it will be worth it in the end. The case above mine has been approved and I had filed for case being outside of processing times online and received in the mail today the letter saying it was being adjudicated and I should receive a notice in 45 days which I think may be a standard response.

Yes. that's a typical standard answer.
However, You are free to call them back in like a week and see if you get a different response.

If you don't have an account with USCIS, another option is to make one. When you make one, it lists all the actions taken on your case. That way you know when your case is being assigned to an officer to be adjudicated, etc.

I'm from the month of August, my boyfriend was sent a runner asking for more evidence specifically a letter where I swore that my intent is to marry him for 90 days I would like. We sent the letter yesterday 22 how long does it take to approve after this?

USCIS says that it can take UP TO 60 days to reply to an RFE that you sent.
However, not many cases take that long. The average is about 30 days. So shoot for 30 days from the date USCIS RECEIVES your case.
