I did exactly that. actually the tier 2 supervisor was rather empathetic. He said something interesting, and maybe it was just a slip up, but I submitted a CASE INQUIRY electronically, and he mentioned that whe nyou do that they will physically go to your file and check it, and he said, then it will go back into the back of the pile.  He really said that. THE BACK! so just curious, who here submitted a case inquiry and is still waiting? maybe they do take your file out and move it backwards in line.....

Well that sucks - yeah somewhere I read not to open a case. Probably true. Don't disrupt the process they have. Given how long we all have been waiting, it's not "your case" so much but overall backlog.

Holy cow! I’m seeing how people have provided tomes of evidence in their initial applications. I only sent two photos and two pairs of airline tickets when we travelled together. Then again I made a note on the application that we lived only a three hour trip over the border and saw each other every weekend. (NOA1 Aug 24th, NOA2 Feb 23rd).

However since I got my NOA2, visiting my fiancé has become a huge hassle, as now I am no longer viewed as a visitor but as a potential immigrant, so the last few times I’ve tried to cross I’ve been moved aside and thoroughly questioned and asked to provide evidence of my return, even though when I was dating, crossing was a breeze.

Anyhoo, I’m still checking up on you guys and wishing you the best and do not give up!!

Naes scans are from the USCIS website, so those should be the ones that still say "My Case Was Received"...

I see some people posting that they call to find that they are approved or getting an RFE.  ...and still others say they got a letter in the mail and in both cases the website still says "Recieved".

I get that they may be behind in updating their website, but seeing 946 June cases that still show "Received" makes me wonder.

I cant come up with a reason based on the little I know. Did you self file or use an attorney?

All - I wonder if this is “extreme vetting”.

like TSA, they change their tactics regularly. Some get through the line while others are subject to more verification. Rediculous to a valid app, not so to a bad actor. You could wing it and just send more stuff and hope for approval, or use a reputable immi attorney. The attorney would need to see everything you sent them and then help you sort what you might be able to explain or send that will satisfy them accordingly. Flip the coin on which to do.

We hired an attorney, we were not risking this to some mistake or problem overlooked. Stressful enough and it delayed our application getting to them a few weeks, but she was helpful and making sure everything was in order, nothing missing. Etc.

I think there's a bit of a confusion. I received my NOA2 yesterday. I was only helping out another couple that received an RFE and wanted some help on what all they could submit to prove that they met. But great to hear it all worked out for you!

According to the USCIS website scan - there are 4 approved and 15 RFE's for August 31 already.  (see Naes post/scan)
