Hey everyone! So I'm preparing the documents to take to the interview (I have received a notice from NVC that the process was sent to the consulate). So most documents are regarding the beneficiary (me) but the Affidavit and it's evidences are about the petitioner.

Ok, so my fiance was here visiting me and he filled in the Affidavit Form, signed and dated it, and gave me copies (he had to ask his work and bank for the letters and they sent it to him via e-mail, so we don't have the originals) of the supporting evidence, such as bank statements, letter from work, tax return. He forgot about the birth certificate/passport copies which I don't think is a requirement but I'll ask him to send it, via e-mail, just in case.

So here's what I'm worried about: In the form I-134 (Affidavit) instructions, it says "Evidence should consist of copies of any of the documents listed below". So we understood that the original document is not necessary but only the copy (of the work statement and of the bank statement), is that right???

I'm freaking out now because I was looking on the internet (blogs etc) I saw that people took to interview the original of the petitioner's birth certificate, work statement, and bank statement, + a copy of all that. From what I read on the I-134 instructions they ask for copies and don't mention the originals.

Can anyone please help?????  Are the copies of the requested affidavit evidence documents enough?

Hope am not late in replying this:

Originals/copies depends on the embassies.
And I think when you say "original" you mean a "wet" signature? As really most of these documents are about the signatures on them.
Tax return, bank statement is most likely a copy. U will not have an "original" tax return or a bank statement as you're printing things produced by someone else. So do not panic unnecessarily. It's gonna be okay :D

Your embassy should send you a packet 3/4 which details what you need to bring for interview. Follow that as that is the best thing to do.

Does anyone know why it's taking so long for us to receive mail from NVC? I'm so worried and frustrated. It's been over a month since our NOA2 Approval.

What do you mean by  "Mail?"
NVC will not contact you until WELL after they send your documents to the embassy, telling you they have sent ur documents to the embassy.
That should probably be about 2-3 months after ur NOA2 (depending on if ur case is electronic or not)

That's why it is suggested you call NVC yourself after about 2-3 weeks after NOA2 to get ur case number and proceed with your embassy instructions.

At what point, does the beneficiary get anything in the mail? Or does the petitioner send something?

What did you have in mind for beneficiary to receive?
For most embassies, after NOA2, petitioner sends all documents to beneficiary to prepare for interview (Affidavit of Support, Tax returns, etc)

Embassy might e-mail packets 3/4 to beneficiary but check with your embassy first to see IF they send a packet, and if they do, to whom. Because some embassies E-mail the packet, to the petitioner.

Good luck!
