I recently was perusing around the VJ site and I stumbled upon the checklist Step-by-Step Guide on How to File for a K-1 Fiance Visa for your Foreign Fiance. I was looking to see what the next steps were going to be after we received our NOA2 (I filed late September so it is right around the corner), specifically around the I-134 Affidavit of Support. I read over the checklist and I saw that I was missing some things that I should have sent with the application.

I did not mail a passport size photo of my fiancee, I did not make a copy of ALL of my passport pages, only the ones were I traveled to Morocco, and I did not have a detailed cover letter. Writing these items out in this post, I realize that I am currently missing a lot of things from my application.  Should I ask my fiancee to send me one now, draft a cover letter and copy all the passport pages now and send them? Or should I wait?

It this going to be a problem? I am nervous that they might deny our application completely. Or is it possible that we may get an RFE

Thanks in advance! I really appreciate any advice on this subject. I am sad that I stumbled upon it so late in the game.

Would say at this point it won't be 'rejected', they would have returned it originally if you had been missing crucial items. An RFE is possible though. At this point have to wait and see what USCIS does.

You may get an RFE for the passport pictures - I doubt they would deny the application for these.

Some people don't have a problem when submitting only the pages with the relevant travel stamps on them, others do.

It's only relevant because they want to see what countries you HAVEN'T gone to - like, you haven't spent a lot of time in Syria or Iran or anything, so by copying all pages (even blanks) you show where your travel was limited to.

Should I get the passport photo from my fiancee, he could scan me a copy and I could print it out and I could make a copy of all of the pages of my passport? I could send it now with my receipt number Or do you recommend I just wait.

I am a little worried about the passport pages though because I was a Peace Corps volunteer so when I lived there, I had a different passport and I believe I sent that back to Peace Corps once I finished my service.

I have had my current passport for a long time. I traveled a lot in 2011-2012 because I was studying abroad in Egypt, especially around that region. I am sort of worried about that since I did not send that information/evidence. I also feel that living in Egypt during the Arab Spring (even though I was on a student visa) might be a problem, especially since I put that info on the I-129.

i would ask him to send 2 passport photos now and all pages of his passport /  it is not you they are concerned with and your travel / they have access to that

you should get an RFE for missing documents such as these

chrono post usually takes about 4 days to come from Morocco / costs is around $35

wirte the cover page and when RFE comes send all needed items together

BTW when you send things,  they need to be in English and Arabic (cover page of his passport)

put your case number,  both names and both DOB"S in upper right hand corner and send in with the cover bar code letter will you receive

do not stqaple

do not put in folders

do not paper clip

I hope you have more than 1 trip and quality time with him / Casa is hard embassy / helpful to read the portal here and see others experiences

good luck

You'll get an RFE for sure, but it's not a problem.  Just get everything now while you wait.  You can try to print the photo yourself, many have done that without any problems.  I believe the full copy of passport is needed to prove the petitioner is a US citizen.  They won't deny you for missing those, but I would think it's highly likely they will ask for it.  No worries!

I don't even understand why some says it is a "maybe" to get an RFE for this kind of initial evidence..

Yes, It will be an RFE. At least those picture are

get the pictures ready so you won't be also waiting to get them ready when they ask. (If you can print the pictures on glossy photo paper just like a normal pic would then scanning is ok)

be careful about the sizes.

if you don't want to wait too long when you get an rfe just get whatever you think that is not enough in the petition, so you can smoothly move.

i saw people who forgot almost everything (from letter of intents to evidences) or they didn't even know about these things at the start, they solved it with the RFE.

you won't get denied because of it as they already accepted your application, you will get denied if you don't answer the  RFE though so just be ready :)

sorry but the real passport photo is needed (Morocco)   they demanded everything from me to be original

and since you have to have all pages of his passport you can get the real photos too

Have you lived in Egypt over a year in the last 5 years as that will require a criminal report from there also

be prepared for security checks

and if only meeting one time chances to be denied

To clarify, I am the one that submitted the I-129 form. It says on the checklist to have " Copy of the Birth Cerificate (front and back) for the Us Citizen

or a copy of ALL pages of the US Citizen's passport issued with a validity of at least 5 years or a copy of the US Citizen's naturalization certificate (front and back). This is used to establish citizenship". So I do not have his passport or the copies of the pages.

I lived in Egypt from 2011-2012, so as of last year that was 5 years ago but I was on a student visa. Criminal report? Would I really need that since I was there on a student visa?

I also lived in Morocco for 2 1/2 years, we met and started dating during my first year living there. There was been numerous visits but 2 visits since I have been back living in America.

You don't need it because you're The petitioner

Beneficiary (if applies) don't need police clearance/certificate from US, the status doesn't matter.

if the beneficiary lived in a country after the age of 16 for longer than 6 months then will need to get police clearance/certificate from all of those countries.
