My husband had his medical examination in Delhi before immigrating. When he arrived in Chicago, the immigration officer told him that the K1 packet, which contained his medical exam and immunization reports. Now I am afraid that when we go for his green card interview, they'll ask for it and we won't have anything to give him. He says he has an electronic copy that the office emailed him, but I am worried that we don't have the official copies.

Has anyone had the immigration officer take the entire packet? Is that what is supposed to happen? Any suggestions?

If he applies for AOS within one year of his previous medical exam, he shouldn't need another one.  However, he might need his immunization record.

They have to take it. That packet is for the immigration at POE. If you apply for AOS immediately after you get married you don’t need a new medical. Medical exams are valid for 6 months. You should have asked for a copy of your immunization records at your medical in your home country before the interview. That you are gonna need to send with your AOS packet. A lot of the doctors automatically give everyone an extra copy for AOS, but a lot don’t and you just have to ask. If you didn’t ask and they didn’t give you one, you’re gonna have to go to an authorized doctor in the US and pay a fee for them to do it for you.

I agree with @missileman if you guys applied for his AOS within 1 year of his medical then y'all are fine. They take the entire packet that is SOP.

We definitely applied in the right time frame. He arrived October 20 and our NOA1 for the adjustment is December 6. I just hope that the copy of the immunization record that he has electronically is enough

Thanks for the responses!

I was sent an electronic copy and I  have a photo copy given from the doctor.

Make sure you got all the proper sheets for immunization along with the doctor's signature on those papers (second page should be it. Mine was two pages and his signature was on the second one)
