So,  my wife (a US citizen) and I are hoping to move to the US at some point this summer.  (Some of you might have seen my earlier post http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/654690-should-we-have-filed-with-dcf/ )

We submitted our I-130 in London via DCF in late November and it was approved early January.

I have now completed and submitted (online) my DS 260.

I have a record of my vaccinations.

I am awaiting my police report (should be within 10 days).
I have all the required documentation.

I have two main questions-

1) Am I correct in thinking that as soon as I receive my Police report that I can schedule my medical?  and that as long as I leave 5 days after my medical, I can book my interview at the same time?

2) I have vaccination records for Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Tuberculosis (BCG) and Meningitis.  I DO NOT have a record of influenza vaccines or Hepatitis B.  Will the doctor at the medical exam administer these or am I required to get them BEFORE the medical? If he administers them, is there an additional cost (on top of the £300).

Any help would be massively appreciated!  Feels like its actually getting real now!!!

Thanks!

You need to have all the vaccines listed on the requirement from USCIS or it won’t be approved. If the doctor is sending your medical to the embassy and not giving you the sealed envelope I would leave at least a week in between. If you have vaccines to take still, find somewhere that will do it and yes you will have to pay for each one. On top of the doctor’s fee.

If you do NOT have the vaccines that you need for medical then they will give you the vaccine at medical. You do not have to pay someone else to give you a vaccine that they will give you at the medical examination.

@TNJ17 Why are you giving out bad information?

We scheduled the medical as soon as we received the police report when we did DCF, and scheduled the interview after we picked up the envelope from the hospital. What you are planning to do is probably fine, you are at most risking an extra trip to pick up the exam results and deliver them to the embassy after the interview (I am assuming that the process in London is the same as we followed where we brought a sealed set of results to the interview) while they hold your passport waiting for them.  If London is one of the embassies that directly receive the medical they will hold your passport after the interview until they receive it then process the visa.

If you are missing a vaccination they will give it to you at the medical and my recollection from my wife's first medical was that there was an extra charge for a missing vaccination, MMR or something like that.  It wasn't much.

When you leave the medical they will have you up to date on your vaccinations.

Good luck.
