Very puzzling indeed.

Winning the prize in terms of confusion must be that Brits get RFIEs later on in the AoS process - for a translation of their birth certificates...

NVC number is the 3 digit code for the embassy, the year, the day of the year starting with 501 as January 1st and them a three digit sequence number for that day.  A first approval in Manila on January 1 would be MNL2018501001.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

Question....could I (petitioner) just e-sign  submit and print the confirmation page myself but just certify that it was me who completed the DS-160? Would that be an issue? I only ask because I'm concerned about the internet connection not being secure at the internet cafe in Jamaica and I really want to get everything scheduled today asap instead of waiting until tomorrow afternoon when my fiance gets off of work.

ROC Filing:

4/21/2021 - Sent ROC Package via FedEx

4/22/2021 - FedEx package delivered and signed

5/11/2021 - Check cashed

5/14/2021 - Received NOA1 via mail (NOA1 date: 5/8/2021)

6/9/2021 -  Biometrics waived - Case updated to Fingerprints taken

Quite frankly I filled out the DS-160 myself on behalf of Atti. I just asked Atti all the specific and we reviewed it together and saved it. Atti logged in and did the final review and signed it and print it. That form times out every minute so it is very difficult to fill out if you don’t have good internet connection or the info handy.

Well I did the same thing with Reni and filled it out with him on the phone but it just needs to signed and submitted. I was wondering if I should just do it and certify that I signed and submitted on his behalf?

Just have him sign it. We didn’t say I helped fill

the form out. The applicant is the one who needs to sign from what I understand. The only way the accept someone else’s signature is if the applicant is illiterate and there is a statement that needs to completed if that is the case. That’s what I read and understood, cause I wanted to do the same 😂

Ok...I'll be patient and wait until he can go tomorrow.

This the previous two years i was below, but this year i think i am okay. I was confused because i saw people collecting previous 3 years. Currently for this year i made the 20k and i can get a letter from my employer stating that for at least 2 more years i'll make that since it is based on a salary pay contract. would this work?

A letter outlining your Salary contract should suffice but review your Embassy's instructions and bring all that they ask.

Some Embassy's still require 3 years of Tax information. So check with your Embassy or be sure to review the instructions contained within the P3/Embassy Letter for all that is needed. Over in the Philippines only one year is recommended. Why recommended, because for the past two years they have not been asking for the I-134 or the supporting documents. That's why I say check with your Embassy for their requirements.

Sorry it took me so long to reply! Crazy work week!

I am the American, my Swiss fiancé is here right now luckily, actually we are baking zopf right now :)

Hope since you wrote you have received your NVC case number (I'll run through the boards to see). I am going to call the NVC next week, it's actually nice to have a week off of looking at the site. My fiancé does freelance work so he has a flexible schedule, I can imagine the 3 months notice would be very hard in light of the crazy delays we've had to go through this year. He flies back on May 1 and we are hoping he will get his interview and medical done then and hopefully fly back right after. Hope this goes quickly for you and you're new comfy spot is right around the corner. Thank you for your feedback, I'll keep you posted on my end too if anything changes, that would be funny to have an embassy interview at the same time, but I'm hoping you have it way before us!

oooooohhh! that's awesome you are baking zopf :D i need to ask what kind of flour you are using! i tried it 3 times and my recipe

didn't really turn out sooo great. and do you have dry yeast that you use?

we are still waiting for the number, so... no update at our end!

how lucky that he is with you for sooo long now :) awesome! hope u enjoy every moment of it!

the doc in zurich (there are 2 others in switzerland as plan b and plan c) has usually a waiting time of 3 - 5 days, so

that can be done quick... and technically the wait for embassy is around 2 weeks, so that could be done quick also.

i couldn't find out if there is an option to pick up the passport with visa the next day or if the only option is mailing it back.

i found the info that we have to give an envelope with stamps on it so i'm assuming this is the only way...

but hopefully that'll be sent quick! don't worry about the long wait! that should go pretty quick...

well let's continue waiting on that NVC #... it can only take 5.5 more weeks haaa!

:( when you call have they given a reason as to why it’s taking so long ?

They've had it for 2 weeks surely it doesn’t take that long to assign it a number!

that's exactly what i said... it can't take that long!

but today marks 16 days and still nothing :) i got to the point where i don't even have hope for a POE in april anymore although

the waiting time for the embassy shouldn't be more than 2 weeks.. but yeah...!

frustration is so high that i gotta make sure i stop online shopping so much now lol

N-400: 12/05/2023 (confirmed fingerprints are re-used)

Interview scheduled for: 05/09/2024

The signing of the DS-160 is a very gray area as to what are the consequences if the Petitioner were to sign instead of the Beneficiary. I am not sure how they would know unless they have a underlying way of capturing the IP address that allows them to know what country it was signed in.

Most applicants work together on the form. Pet is the one who fills in the document along with the Ben and once completed it's saved and then accessed by the Ben and signed. Once it is signed then it is available to print.

@Greenbaum plz concerning the filling of DS 160 form, can unemployment affect the outcome of the visa process since I am presently  unemployed.  I am the beneficiary

I am a Nigerian. What do I do?  Thanks

Are you between jobs with a small window of unemployment? Do you have any type of degree such as engineering, scientist or Doctor to name a few, that would more than likely lead to a job shortly? If not then I would recommend a sponsor but keep in mind the Embassy is not required to except one.

A sponsor should be close relative like parents or a sibling. https://www.uscis.gov/greencard/affidavit-support

A lot of people are unemployed now! I think I heard some folks say they had to give their job 3 months notice. My fiancé is unemployed as of last summer and since we were doing this process , he couldn't re sign his contract. Morocco hires based on 6 months or 1 year sometimes even 2 year contracts and he couldn't sign something not knowing when we'd hear back. He filled out his last job first and I believe his 6 years of school before that. If this helps you at all...

Thanks dear.
