March 2018 NOA2 ---> NVC thread

I called NVC this morning and they received my case yesterday. :) I am part of the electronic group that now has to push "5" when dialing NVC. Sounds like that's consulate specific, so would expect the other Turkish filers to be electronic as well.

NOA2: 3/1

USCIS sent: 3/8

NVC received: 3/15

I've done a lot of stalking of the NVC spreadsheet (and a lot of stalking /updating for people ). As @turkishdelight noted, about week between each step is pretty typical and at least 3/1 NOA2s seem to be following that timeline exactly.

Did u call yesterday too to see if they received it or just today? They said my case was sent a day after yours and they don’t have it yet as of a few minutes ago.

I didn't call yesterday since work got crazy. I'm not sure what time they put cases into the system so it's possible they could have it later today.

Looks like @Rein03 has the same NOA2 date as you and had theirs received yesterday.

Hey everyone!

I just found out about this thread!

September filers here, NOA2 03/13!

I have one question. Is it really necessary to call nvc to get the case number? We are not in "a rush" since I won't be able to leave my country before mid June (I have my last finals at university at the end of May, wish me luck!). I mean, is it the only way to get the case number or will it be sent to our email/home address?

Thanks everyone, and hang on in there, we're close!

I wasn't in a hurry either, but best to know that your file didn't get lost in transit from USCIS to NVC and to Embassy

wow my NOA2 was only one day after you, I do hope they receive my file soon, but I rang today and NVC said it's not there yet...

In this or another thread they said to call after 6pm EST. It's almost no wait and between me calling NVC for the first time and the case being there was 4 working days. They had my case in 14 days after approval of NOA2

They do eventually send an email with a case number once the case has left NVC (or at least they did for me) in case you want to wait for that instead of calling :)

No reason to call if you are not in a hurry.  We are all impatient!  You should check the CEAC site to know where you are but it will happen when it happens.  You will get emails if you are set up for that.  You should also receive a letter.  I kind of envy you.  Most of us are stressing over the wait and you can just relax and enjoy the trip!

I just called and my case was created 4 minutes ago lol. Now waiting for case #, he said I was the option #5 group too and he said "which is better". Do you think that means they send it to the embassy electronically?

That's my understanding. I think some people in the Feb group were complaining that it takes longer to get your case number if you're electronic, but it basically gets to the embassy the same day when they send it.

Ooh that's awesome! I rather have it that way then having them mail it because mail takes 2-3 weeks out of the country sometimes.

Well, unfortunately I think I'm double stressed actually. Because of the procedure which is so frustrating and my exams. And it's hard to combine those two things. I should be studying but all I do is reading about visa stuff.

And I wish I didn't have to worry about do many things. And above all, I really want to be with my fiance! It's already been 3 months since we saw each other and he doesn't have days off to come visit me. So we will see each other again once I'll move there with the visa.

But what is the CEAC site?

I guess we all have our own stresses.  I was hoping that your journey stress would be lessened but school stress isn't great either.
