I’m a bit confused  😐

how do I see where to schedule the interview? Where do I go? Or am I going to be given an appointment from the embassy as the initial email said.

Go to your Embassy's website and read what is needed for the interview. Go to the sub-forum for Hungary here on VJ and get connected with others that will answer that question as many are in the process or have completed the same and are willing to help someone like yourself. Next go up to the Portals tab on this page and select the link by tapping on your country's flag where you will find a wealth of information.

Good morning!

I called NVC this morning, and I have wonderful news! They received my case! (NOA2 process 03/23). I am so excited and nervous at the same. This process is moving so much faster. They also said that it would not remain at NVC for much longer and that they were going to send it off to the embassy in Casablanca in the next week or so.

I am feeling extra positive today and I am crossing my fingers for everyone else!

“We are a little weird, life is a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”

How long should I expect the "At NVC" message? What's the current average?

I really want to know that too!!! 9 days for us now. I’m going to call nvc in a few and see if someone can help with that. I’ll keep you posted!

Well, if doing things the 'incorrect' way means coming here and marrying on a tourist visa, then doing things the 'INcorrect' way would mean you'd probably get sent back your country and barred from re-entering the USA for at least 10 years. I doubt you'd want to go through that. It's a stressful process but when you look at the numbers and see all that have applied, I think they're doing pretty ok numbers wise. When I called, the CS rep at NVC said, "oh a new case.. here's your case number." If the NVC received yours, wouldn't you have one as well? They seem to be a lot nicer and less robotic than calling USCIS but I'm also told it can take up to 8 weeks to assign a case number once received. Every time we move to the next phase, I get more anxiety. To be honest, I had less anxiety sitting and waiting for the NOA2.

i have never ever done of doing something the incorrect way, trust me. i'm swiss, like a full 100% swiss that never does anything like that.

i wouldn't be able to sleep at night if i did.

i think this process now is just so insane that it makes me doubt if my swiss way is the right way to follow all steps properly blablabla

as i know a buuuuuunch of people that weren't even a tourist and got married. they were illegal or students, aupairs all that goodness,

and they got married and had their papers ready in within a few months! not that i recommend that, but i never thought this process

would get under my skin like that and make me sick in so many ways

Your not alone in your frustration. If you have been reading the post here you had seen others feeling the same. Having said that. Every step of the way my wife and I would just ignore this process. We never joined a forum like this one because what is said is the same old thing and it only piles on to your own frustration. We went about daily business and waited till we thought it was time to call NVC for our number. Calling 3-4 times daily, or calling daily or what not is not going to help. Make one call, choose the time and leave it at that.

They are processing some cases before you with later dates is because each adjudicator is assigned a stack and that adjudicator may be a little faster then another so you will see discrepancy's like what you are experiencing.

and i fully agree with you, there is no way to understand why they don't work more in order and how the different adjudicator's work on a different speed. that all makes sense to me.

what doesn't make sense at this point is, it's approved. all they need to do is assign a number, scan or duplicate and forward. it's not like there is much more to do than that. that's a 5 min job, and not a 13 day waiting time - at least in my opinion it isn't.

there is nothing i can do anyways at this point so i'll just lean back and try not to make myself sick :)

Venting is exactly what we here for lady. This is an insanely frustrating process every step of the way and we are your support people so never apologize to us for having a rough week or day or even just a wobbly moment. I’m crossing everything for you that you have a number this week but if you don’t then I’m here for you next week and the week after and as many as takes after that till I can do the happy dance that you are finally approved for real and for ever xxx😘

thanks hun, you're the sweetest <3

i feel this wait is almost longer now than the noa2 approval, just because all you hear is "it's going so quick from here on..." and it's not.

it's been almost a month since noa2 and even if it's not as long as the 185 days we were waiting, it feels forever long now.

N-400: 12/05/2023 (confirmed fingerprints are re-used)

Interview scheduled for: 05/09/2024

Yes - exactly! Almost 8 months since we started this and the buoyant optimism of the post noa2 days is slowly waning! I leave Wales on Saturday and don’t actually know when I am going to see Stuart again. I’m still clinging to sooner rather than later but this is the first time we have not had the next trip lined up as we were SO certain this was going to be the last one before he was in the USA for good. Now I’m not so sure 😶

@enfinity83 our case reflects ready this morning. It took about six days as well. Now let's see how long it takes to receive packet 3 via email.

I still haven't gotten any packet 3.  My fiancee called the embassy and they said it's not really that necessary for anything (hospital visit, interview, etc).  They said it's just for informational purposes.

Same with my embassy once nvc assigns a case number we can schedule medical and do ds160 pay fees so im sending my fiance the book for his interview hopefully within that time it goes to in transit and we can schedule our interview but at least the medical will be done

Love knows no reason,no boundaries,no distance .It has a sole intention of bringing people together to a time called FOREVER!!!!!!!!

Depends on the embassy. I payed the fee and completed the usatraveldocs profile, but I will need to schedule the interview over the phone or e-mail. No visible calendar for me. Maybe Budapest is the same. Did u receive the packet 3 e-mail?

I see! No, I have not received the packet 3, but I am the petitioner so maybe Atti will receive it. So it’s not a physical mail sent to his home?

That is also depends on the embassy. For Bucharest they sent an e-mail to the petitioner in English asking to forward the e-mail below to me which was in Romanian, and also it didn't contain too many useful information.E.g they left out half of the stuff needed for the medical, so if I would just blindly follow what they said, I would have needed to make to trips to Bucharest just for the medical. So from here on the process is not really uniform. If you have questions you should address the embassy where the interview will take place just to be sure you have the correct information. Or you could ask people who went thru Budapest. I 've met a couple of really nice and helpful people here who helped me with info about the Bucharest embassy.

Yeah, I have been searching and there are not many Hungarians on here. There are like three that have gone through the process,  I have contacted them and no answer still. There is a young couple and they are actually relying on us for answers. I actually found a number for the US Embassy in hungary with a local number. Maybe I will call them today. Oops tomorrow :) it’s too late today!
