I just called this morning (It's 7:43 AM here, not sure where you guys are.) but the lady said they received my case.. as in, literally just received it

I keep telling people to hang in there. I know it's discouraging when others are moving faster but there's really no rhyme or reason as we've all noticed lol People are getting expedites who haven't even requested one. I keep noticing that good things happen when I stop thinking about it. Still cheering for everyone despite the few continuous complainers. I feel as though TV should get rid of 90 day Fiance and create a "200 days til NOA2, weeks of impatience for a case number- fiance." :jest:

I'm getting discouraged only because before I started the process I was under the impression it would be 4 to 6 months

We all did! because that's what we were told. I even paid RapidVisa extra to avoid any complications along the way and they really haven't done much but delay sending it to USCIS because they review it first. We were told it would be around 6 months but now even they've changed it to almost 10 months. There's really nothing that can be said to make anyone feel better about the entire process but you have to really just realize why you're doing it and that it'll be worth it in the end.

Well said thank you

Awesome to know! I was actually wondering how a K1 could sit there for possibly 6 weeks with such a short validity. This process has literally gone from.. "Ugh whats taking so long." to "Holy S***" to "ugh whats taking so long at NVC" back to "holy S***" hahaha

 thats a very accurate description of this entire process

Love knows no reason,no boundaries,no distance .It has a sole intention of bringing people together to a time called FOREVER!!!!!!!!

No one, not even a business (RapidVisa is not a company that can guarantee to speed up your process, they are charging you for voodoo dust) can speed the processing up nor do they have control over the processing time. We (USC) are dealing with a problem of immigration that frankly has to be fixed and now is better than later. Hence, more scrutiny has added to the process. This is a game of who has more patience you or them. The sooner you relax the better your life during this process will be. Just saying from years of helping folks attain their visas. :)

I think all K1s get expedited ☺️ At least that’s what they told @Swissmiss82. It’s because the validity of the NOA2 is so short (4 months). They still take different amounts of time for different cases of course, and why that is, I have no clue.

The validity of the NOA2 is not 4 months but 12 months. That is their "pad" answer so they can keep the pipeline moving of approved cases to prevent a slow down. You can set your interview appointment anytime in that window but be sure to be on US soil before the 12 months is up.

The different amounts of time is because each of you have different backgrounds and each of your Country's have different backgrounds and the two are taken into consideration during the USCIS vetting of your visa. Not two visa process's will be the same.

That’s news to me, it says four months on the notice? But maybe 12 is the max amount of time you can extend the NOA2?

Exactly - I understand this is the case for the USCIS processing times. I’m not sure exactly what affects the NVC waiting time (from NVC received to case in transit to consulate) though. I know some are probably randomly picked up by the NVC to double check the work performed by the USCIS? Or maybe they batch them up by country. It would be interesting to know 😊

My NOA2 says it is valid March 8, 2018 to July 7, 2018.  I guess they issue extensions if you don't make that date.

PHILIPPINES ONLY!!!  CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) INFO - Can't leave home without it!

PDOS (Pre-Departure Registration and Orientation Seminar) is for ages 20-59.  Peer Counseling is for 13-19 years of age.

It is required to have the visa in their passport for PDOS and Peer Counseling.

GCP (Guidance and Counseling Program) is for K-1 Fiancee and IR/CR-1 spouse ONLY.

Great. I scheduled my medical for April 16th. The hospital said I need the letter with the case number from packet 3 so hopefully from today till April 16th is enough time for my case to arrive and for the embassy to send me packet 3 via email.

yeah that will be plenty of time.

I'm speaking about the Philippines when I offer this example. Say a you go for your medical and because TB is a problem for the Phil then extra tests are required. Some tests take 3 days and if TB is suspected they go on a regiment at the medical center. So for the next six months,  m-f you will be required to come in to the clinic and be administered the necessary dose. That regiment is 6 months long. So the applicant has to stay in Manila for the medication. Think about this, you live somewhere that requires a long bus ride or you need to fly. It's impossible to live at home and travel everyday to get the prescribed medication. Once you are finished with this regiment it's now been 9 months since your NOA2. That's one of the reasons why NOA2 has a validity of 12 months but more importantly it keeps the pipeline moving.

Oh congratulations, April 12th is so soon! Hoping all goes well for you 😄 I’m not sure about the flu shot, but I guess it only really matters for AoS I suppose, which likely you will not be doing in the winter season? Don’t know, but I keep my fingers crossed that they’ll give me what I need for AoS during my medical 🙏🏻

My timeline was also pushed forward a bit because of Easter, and my medical is now set to 4/18. When I initally scheduled the interview, the next interview date was 5/17... But just yesterday after the Easter holiday, those dates you mentioned showed up so I rescheduled to 5/3 😊 I feel good about this timeline as I still have commitments in Sweden and wouldn’t have been able to move any earlier either way. Hoping to have the visa by 5/18. Earliest possible POE would be 5/24.

When are you planning his POE? ☺️

5/3 is less than a month away!! Not long at all, how awesome :) A May POE will be great too. It'll be full good weather mode and a great time to get married!! Are you feeling nervous at all for the steps ahead? The medical was a pleasant breeze I was told. I'll report back after our interview happens to tell you how it went!

And thank you so much!! Our interview is so soon. ☺️ The flu shot won't matter the next few months, but I was wondering if since we're in NYC maybe they won't pick up our AOS case until the end of the year by the time we file when it's flu season again? I read that if you get a medical outside of flu season it's not an issue (your medical is out of flu season, it's until the end of March I believe), but ours was a week before flu season ended. I bet we'll be fine, but I just like being paranoid thinking of all possible outcomes in case it could happen haha.

As soon as he gets approved (fingers crossed) and he receives the visa, he'll hop on the next plane that's not incredibly expensive! I hope he can receive his passport back within 2 weeks. I read reviews on here and it seems to always take over a week. Maybe a bit more since he's outside of Sweden. I wish I could go to the interview in Sweden to visit the history museum in Stockholm. It looks amazing! Never been. Sorry this turned out to be an essay haha
