The answer to your question is YES but only if he hasn't passed the National Board of Medical Examiners.

answer is no... the beneficiary does not intend to provide services UNTIL AFTER he would become board certified in the US... unless there is intent to commit a criminal act by providing services without proper licensing...

Hi guys! Congrats on everyone's approvals and case numbers and interview dates! :)

I have a silly question I believe, my apologies in advance. I was just curious about the NVC received dates; do you find out about these when you call or is there a different way? Just got really confused and I'm wondering if I've missed something...

When I called this morning! And later on today they sent me an email :)

friends for the ds-160 there is the following question

"Are you a graduate of a foreign medical school seeking to perform medical services in the United States but have not yet passed the National Board of Medical Examiners examination or its equivalent?"

if my significant other is a physician and eventually i want her to be able to practice her career here, do we put yes?

Its poorly worded but they are asking if you intend to practice without a license in the US. With certainty you need to answer NO! look at the 20 surrounding questions for example. Do you intend to engage in prostitution? Do you intend to abduct a relative and return to your home country? etc.

After reading @NateAndJessica interruption I would say the answer is NO. It's a very different question then how it was written in the DS-160. Very confusing question.  So being confused one could answer YES . I think this is a very ambiguous question and I can't say for sure, but I wouldn't put it passed USCIS that their intention is to have it confusing.

If you have already submitted your DS-160 you can start a new DS-160 if you want to change your answer. When you complete the DS-160 bring the confirmation page to your interview as it will be needed. BTW many have made mistakes and redid their DS-160 with no repercussions.

After reading your post I went back to read the original question posed by @Jesus and reading it again I see your point and I agree with you. The question is ambiguous at best but once you included the term "UNTIL AFTER" I have a different view. I stand corrected.

THank you guys!!  i also have an additional question my fiancee completed the ds 160 but we do not know how to pay the fees , we are trying to schedule an appointment this is how the portal looks , however when we get to step 8 it stays

No valid record can be found for the entered receipt number. Please validate that your receipt number is correct and that you have paid the correct amount for the visa which you are applying for.  image.thumb.png.913e0faddc95132e058d3cc91e274115.png

yeah its part of a crazy section where they only ask various questions in the line of: Do you intend to engage in prostitution? Do you intend to take part in war crimes? Do you intend to kidnap us citizens? Its the oddest questionnaire Ive ever filled lol

Try it again but select Nonimmigrant Visa. They go back and forth in their meaning of Non and Immigrant. I have found if it doesn't work for one then try the other.

@enfinity83 I know right? My fiancé (the petitioner) got two emails from NVC. One was addressed to him to inform him about them having the case and it being forwarded to the the embassy in Seoul. It also contained the case number, invoice number, etc. The second email was addressed to me (the petitioner) and informed me that the case has been expedited (no request made for expedite -- it's probably generic language) and being forwarded to the embassy in Seoul. It's been stuck on transit for two days now, so not quite as long as yours. I have however paid for and scheduled an interview date for May 1st. I'm calling the hospital today to schedule the medical for next week. The hospital we are using St Mary's said we should schedule the interview first and then bring the appointment confirmation. I just hope they don't require anything from the packet the embassy is gonna send us.

I just got the "ready" status!!!

6 days of "in transit"... time to schedule the interview!

Is there anyone still waiting for NVC to receive their case? Just curious! It seems the NVC was moving pretty quick a few weeks ago and slowed back down.

Got approved on the 23rd and waiting on NVC
