I just want to make a slight correct on the use of the term "USEM". USEM stands for U.S. Embassy Manila. Each Embassy uses a shorten version for their identity. ;)

Oh, I always thought USEM is short for US - EMbassy (then insert place) lol! Thanks for the correction

friends for the ds-160 there is the following question

"Are you a graduate of a foreign medical school seeking to perform medical services in the United States but have not yet passed the National Board of Medical Examiners examination or its equivalent?"

if my significant other is a physician and eventually i want her to be able to practice her career here, do we put yes?

The answer to your question is YES but only if he hasn't passed the National Board of Medical Examiners.

where can we locate this? is it the uscis wac number?

or the number the nvc gave us?

thank you

The case ID is the letter and number combination on the I-797.  If you are following your case from the NVC on the CEAC website, it is the number you have been typing.  It should begin with 3 letters representing the embassy in Venezuela and then the year (2018).  I don't know what it is for Venezuela, but for Ho Chi Minh City, it is HCM2018XXXXXX.

Your plan sounds really nice ☺️ I like the date too, haha! And I agree, it’s all starting to feel so real! We decided a long time ago to do town hall, and now with our new interview date it looks like end of May (which was the initial plan) or beginning of June might be possible. I (the benficiary) still feel a bit conflicted about not having my family there, but there are so many family members and friends I would’ve liked to come, and that wouldn’t have worked out with the uncertainty of the wedding date either way. So we’re doing it small now and big sometime later.

It is really hard to consider it without family - I think the idea of small now, big later is sensible!! We had considered doing it at city hall but that actually wasn’t as easy as we had thought!  In Florida a notary can marry you and as my soon to be sister in law is one it seemed easy and quite special to have her do it!

I've just submitted my DS160 online and have printed off my confirmation. I've gone to the website to pay the fees and putting my case number in is fine, it brings me to the screen where I give my date of birth and confirm that I am the applicant but it just keeps telling me my date of birth is invalid.

Help!

Silly thought but are you putting it in the English way or the American way? You might need to flip your month and day. Hope this helps xxx

It's laid out with little drop down boxes so it asks for DD-MMM-YYYY and that's what I'm doing :(

It's so confusing. The first thing it asks for is Case Number so I put my WAC petition number and that takes me to the screen where it asks for my DOB but then tells me it's invalid, and if I put the NVC case number and try that instead it just comes up with a message saying:

K visas are nonimmigrant visas that assist spouses or future spouses of American citizens in entering the United States. As with all nonimmigrant visa applicants, a DS-160 must be filled out in order for a consular section to process the case.

Hmm think you should ask @Greenbaum Sounds like he would be the best person to ask! Sorry I can’t help.
