Does the NVC close on the “holidays” like this coming Friday? I want to make a call if they received our case

To be clear, Good Friday is a Christian holiday commemorating the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, but it is not a federal holiday in the United States. Thus, most services such as the post office, mail, and banking should not be disrupted.

Hey!

Do you happen to know what dates were available for the London embassy? :)

thanks!!

The earliest was 3rd of May. Then 8th, 11th, 14th, 15thh (I think almost all that week), and almost every day for the rest of the month of May. It looked like every appointment was for 10 or 11:30AM. There were a decent amount of options, but the first 2 weeks were booked nearly solid.

Has anyone in here proceeded in the DS-160 without a picture? My upload won’t work.

They do not have to be professional pictures but they do need to meet the requirements.  I ended up using pictures I had from selfies they took.  I just cleaned up the background and corrected the size.  That is acceptable for these pictures.  The ones you bring to medical and the interview have to be unretouched.

That is the standard answer.  It should be quicker!  Congratulations.  I was told the same thing and it was only 5 days from NVC received to Ready at the Manila Embassy

@John & Rose Thank you! Congratulations to you as well! Looks like things are moving for you and I'm so happy for you!  Good luck with the rest of your journey! I'm excited to see updates as they come! I am pretty nervous! I don't know what to expect I almost wish I was still waiting for the NOA2 and working on preparation because I'm so filled with a ton of emotions, but most of all EXCITED!

That's awesome! My NOA2 date is 3/6, and I totally understand that "rush"! Even though mine is moving slower than yours I'm so nervous and excited and all of the emotions jumbled together.  GOOD LUCK!

Guys I also have another question, in regards to the collecting documents for i134 what are all the documents we must collect?

Also, i am currently a medical student, i have some money save up. however this year because i was not able to work i got medicaid, is this consider a public charge? i was reading that only if "

  • Programs (including Medicaid) supporting individuals who are institutionalized for long-term care (e.g., in a nursing home or mental health institution). (Note: costs of incarceration for prison are not considered for public charge determinations)"

I am using a co/sponsor for my application.

someone please help!

Thank you!

You should be able to demonstrate that you will not become a public charge or burden on the U.S. taxpayers for financial support. A completed I-134 Affidavit of Support Form may be useful to the consular officer to evaluate your petitioner’s ability to be financially responsible for you. You may also be asked to submit your petitioner’s most recent U.S. Federal income tax return (Form 1040) and wage statements (Form W-2). Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Download Form I-134 at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis.

That is the general statement for Financial documentation. If you are a student with no income then you should use a co-sponsor preferably a close family member like siblings or parents. I want caution you as some Embassy's will not accept a co/sponsor as they are not required to. Some Embassy's will not ask for financial information. This is where it is best to find someone who has already been through the visa interview at the same Embassy you will process through.

Go to "Portals" on the blue ribbon on the top of this page. Once you are on the portal page select your country. On the right hand column you will see names of people who have just completed their interview. Send them a DM and introduce yourself and explain your situation and ask for their help. Also, they pay have Packet 3 or the Embassy letter that they could email to you. If you are kind in your delivery most people will help.

NoA2 is March 1. :) Well that's understandable because we've patiently waited for the approval and then they are making us wait again for the case number. Geez! But don't worry, everything is faster now. We will be with our significant others in no time.

Boy, do I hear you...waiting was getting comfortable.  Once we got NOA2 it has been a blur.  New stresses and pressures.  More paperwork.  It was 20 days from NOA2 to the petition (or part of it) to be at the Embassy.  It was only 5 days from NVC received to READY.  We have some other challenges now since Aira is not on the petition for some reason but we will fix that.  They have already completed day 1 of the two day medical and the interview, as of this moment, is scheduled for April 17.  Talk about 0 to 60 speed!  Just hang in there.  You are doing great.  Keep breathing and this will all be over very soon.

The process will not let you complete the DS-160 if there is anything that is missing including the picture.

Personally I provided Tax returns for 3 years i also receive survivors benefits for my children i have three years for that as well as employee letter and a letter from the bank stating date account opened total amount deposited for the past year and present balance. Although you have a co sponsor you still have to fill put a i134 as far as Medicaid i cant be sure about that because if you can get medicaid you can get food stamps which they ( american government) are trying to prevent. When i was laid off from my job i refused to get anything because i didn't want anything to prevent us from being approved at the interview stage

Hi, did you just go in to your bank and ask for them to type a letter?? Is there a format for work and the bank??
